Video: Batman and Robin Movie Handheld Electronic Game TV Commercial
A really old TV commercial for the Batman and Robin Movie Handheld Electronic Game by Tiger. The quality isn't really the best but it does give us a good idea what the commercial was like. The design of the toy was pretty cool the way it was bat-logo shaped & one of the control sticks was a Batman figure.

Vintage Batman Toy : Foreign BATMOBILE CAR Made in Italy!
Here's a bat-treasure from Italy that shows both the Batman toy car & the original box. It's the "Italian-Version BATMOBILE" by the REEL Toy Company ©1980. It had lights that actually work & while it's not completely remote control, it does have a steering wheel knob on a handle with a cord that goes to the car. Both the box & toy have really great graphics all over them. I'm sure the following photos will totally torture all the Vintage Batman Toy collectors, enjoy!

Video: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Art Student Animation
This video was done by an art student who was totally inspired by Batman. It's based on the Frank Miller Batman from "The Dark Knight Returns" graphic novel. If you have read that classic book then you will recognize this moment. Overall the animation is pretty good & I like the minimal-style artwork too...a great piece!

BATMAN & ROBIN TATTOO Using Ron English Art
OK, I'm a huge fan of the paintings & artwork of an artist named Ron English. So, the other day when I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader who told me he saw a "Batman and Robin Kids" Tattoo I was pretty excited. The tattoo artist did such a great job that I added the image of the original painting for comparison, check it out! Oh yeah, if you would like to see more work by Ron English then be sure to scan his POPAGANDA website. Here's a link:

Cute Kid as Heath Ledger's JOKER from the Dark Knight Batman Movie!
"WHY SO SERIOUS?!" The other day I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Joey. He wrote, "My daughter Robin recently went to a party and there was a face painter. She had her share of girly face painting and she proved to be a FREAK! LIKE ME!". Ha Ha! Thanks Joey. Your daughter looks great with this very cool Joker make-up. I almost thought it was actually Heath Ledger for a second...ha ha, just kidding. But seriously, it's wonderful that such a great kid can be a HUGE Batman Fan like her father...that's awesome! Thank you for sharing this story & photo with my readers. I know they will get a really big kick out of it, it's very cool.

But I gotta warn ya, these Paper Craft Projects are totally addictive!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING From The BATMAN Family!
I wanna wish everybody ( in the USA anyway, ha ha ) a very Safe & HAPPY THANKSGIVING! To mark the occasion I "borrowed" a wonderful parody photoshop photo made by a friend nick-named "A. Pennyworth". He used a classic painting by Norman Rockwell. But his version features the cast from the 1966 Batman TV Show & is also an incredible piece of ART!

Desktop Wallpaper: Tim Burton's 1989 BATMAN Movie!
Every Bat-Blog Reader knows that every single Wednesday is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", ha ha! So, this week I thought I would post 2 Batman Desktop Backgrounds that have a "1989 Batman Movie" theme. Basically, it's the same exact photo of Michael Keaton as Batman in the Batcave ( I always thought his Bat-Computer was groovy ) but one is a full-shot & the other is a close-up...sort of 2 variations. I kinda picked this photo for a few reasons: One, This is the movie that totally hooked me into becoming extremely serious about being a Batman Toy Collector. Two, visually it looks pretty cool and Three, some friends & I were talking the other night about how amazing it is that next year ( 2009 ) will be the 20th Anniversary of that now-classic movie. Wow! Twenty years ago! ( That makes me feel kinda old now, ha ha! ).

MEGO Pocket Superheroes BAT-MACHINE BATMAN VEHICLE
Shown here is an amazing Vintage Batman Toy called BAT-MACHINE! It was a special vehicle made by the MEGO Toy Company in 1980 for their line of 3 1/4" Mego Pocket Superhero Action Figures. It was a fully computer-programmable vehicle a lot like the BIG TRAX toy made by Milton Bradley Electronics. OK, I can not even start to explain how extremely SUPER-RARE this baby is but in 20+ years of super-collecting I have never seen one in the box & the loose one I seen at a toy show many years ago was totally wasted, ha ha! This one is beautiful, with the original box, & is a total museum piece!

Costume Photos: BATMAN AND ROBIN CATCH THE PENGUIN!
Here's some really great photos that a Bat-Blog Reader named Blake wanted to share & I am glad he did! Last summer Blake & his friends decided to become their favorite superheroes ( and villain ). They dressed up like Batman, Robin, & the Penguin. Blake, thanks for sending us these wonderful pics. The costumes are great & the POW you added to a few of the photos really cracked me up...good job! I also like how they have a sequential order to them like reading a graphic novel, pretty funny! I wanna invite all other readers to send us your wacky Batman-related pics. There is always an e-mail button on the top right-hand side of this page.
Custom Art: CATWOMAN SCULPTURE on eBay!
Meeeeooowww! Here's something I came across on eBay & thought was pretty cool. It's a custom-made "Maquette" Art Sculpture of Catwoman in a sexy pose. It's modeled after the artwork of Bruce Timm's Batman: The Animated Series ( shown below ). The artist's name is Beverly Gilroy & she works for Hourglass studios. Purrrrfect!

BATMAN MEMORABILIA The Iris Art Collection From Germany
The Bat-Blog has a friend named Iris who lives in Germany & sometimes shares photos with us from her personal collection. This time she e-mailed us some really neat photos of some of the Batman Art she has on display at her house. The photo with the "Multiple Batman Figures" was colored by her daughter & some of her daughter's friends. She took them & framed them all together. I really love children's art so this picture is very cool & I gotta say that it's my favorite! The way Batman is in different colors & in multiples sort of reminds me of Andy Warhol's Pop Art, ha ha. Another photo shows some standees that she has in a hallway ( the one of Batgirl is my favorite! ). She explained that the artwork of The Riddler ( Jim Carrey ) is an actual piece of airbrushed art. Overall there's some really neat stuff here. Thank you Iris for sharing these personal photos, I appreciate that. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have photos like this to share then please do. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Weird BATMAN MEMORABILIA From Russia!
OK, Hmmmm, this is kinda weird but here are 2 very strange Batman items from Russia. The 1st one is a famous "Bootleg Action Figure" of Batman, shown with original box! I have always thought the bootleg stuff was pretty funny but I don't really go out of my way to buy it. I've always thought every collector needs at least 1 item like this in their collection. Ya know, just for fun. There's some really great stuff made in Mexico that's very wacky! The 2nd photo is an original advertisement for the Canon IXUS 75 Digital Camera. It features a model who has more than one set of hands & he's making a Batman mask out of his fingers, yeah weird but it looks kinda cool. I can't read Russian but I think there's a silly caption up above his head, ha ha! Anyway, I thought some readers would enjoy this stuff because it's so obscure. For some reason you never see much Batman Memorabilia from the USSR...very cool!
