Cool Japanese BATMAN Apple iPod Earphones

In Japan there is a company called SKULL-CANDY who makes these very cool Audio Earphone Sets for your Mp3 Players, mainly the Apple iPod . Here are 2 they made with a Batman & Superman Theme. The neat thing is that I think they come with a set of Vinyl Figures too! Sorry, Not really sure. The Japan-based website I found these on was totally Japanese & I could NOT read a thing, ha ha! But either way these look like a lot of fun. As you can see, the ear-pieces have a set of snap-on "Bat-Logo" covers. But I gotta say that I totally love the vinyl figures way more!

Batman's HARLEY QUINN Paper Art Craft Toy!

BATMAN AND JOKER - Urban Paper Craft Toys To Make!

One thing about the Internet is I'm totally loving the "Urban Paper Craft Toy" movement! Basically, a ton of different Graphic Artists are creating some fun toys that you can print with your computer & then put together to have figures or fun stuff. It's really neat, very creative, & highly addictive. Here are 2 figures of BATMAN & JOKER from the Dark Knight movie. Of course this is the "Heath Ledger" version of the Joker & he's just great! DC BATMAN: Batbaby Baby Bao 10" Art Doll Figure by Dorophy Tang

Recently a famous Hong Kong artist and designer named Dorophy Tang released a few Batman Parody illustrations that became quite popular. The "fake Batman comic book covers" were called BATBABY & they were inspired by Chinese Boy imagery combined with American Superhero iconography. So, to capitalize on the success of her art, she will be releasing this very limited 10" vinyl figure doll called "BATBABY BABY BAO". So limited in fact that only 300 will be made & the rumor is that they will retail for around $165.00 ( American Dollars ). Personally, I think it's pretty cool! It really cracks me up. The funny thing is, for this post, I was researching the "Bat-Baby Prints" & at almost the same time a reader ( named BATFAN ) sent me these photos of the doll....WOW! Now, how weird is THAT!! After such a good omen like that I knew it was going to be a good post, ha ha! Also, I hope she makes one of Robin The Boy Wonder too!! Thanks BATFAN!

BATMAN MUNNY ACTION FIGURE and Custom Batmobile Car

A good friend to the Bat-Blog, named Billy, sent us these amazing photos he found on the internet the other day. They show a Customized Munny Figure made to look like Batman, only cuter! But the artist didn't stop there. He ( or she ) also made a custom Batmobile Car! Both the figure & vehicle look extremely awesome! I really like the small details like the bat-belt. I also love the "cartoon-look" & the Batmobile really reminds me of the one used in the 1989 Batman Movie, except it's super-cute! Thanks for sharing these pics Billy. A new trend in the arts and crafts movement that is extremely fun & clever is the invention of "Paper Craft Toys". These are usually PDF files you can download on your computer, print out, then cut & shape into "action figures or dolls". Shown here is a new "BATMAN PAPER TOY" you can make. Classic BATMAN AND ROBIN Paper Craft Toys!

Over at the TOY-A-DAY website they have 2 totally awesome "Vintage-Style" BATMAN & ROBIN Paper Craft Toys you can download & make. Basically they are some free PDF files you can send to your PC's printer ( or e-mail to Kinko's Copies ) & then cut-out to assemble. I think the artist did an amazing job capturing all the small details. The toys look pretty cool & while you're there be sure to check out the many different designs they have. But I gotta warn ya, these Paper Craft Projects are totally addictive!

PAPER MODEL KIT 1966 BATMOBILE CAR Urban Papercraft Custom

I wanna thank my friend Rawb for sending the link to this very cool website that has a Custom 1966 Batmobile Paper Model Kit ( the George Barris Car for the 60's TV Show ) you can download & make. In the "urban toys" sub-culture there are many designers, crafts people, & artists who are very serious about creating these custom paper toy models for the masses. This one is extremely awesome & I knew I had to share it here! It was created by an artist named Marshall Alexander & ya gotta admit he did a great job. BATMAN and ROBIN Retired Senior Citizens MUNNY FIGURES

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, whew! Oh man, when I saw these they cracked me up! Here's a set of customized MUNNY FIGURES made to look like Batman & Robin, if they were very old senior citizens. They were made by an artist named "Montreal Munny". I found these over at a website called TOY CUTTER that is basically all about the urban toys fad. One of the things in that sub-culture is to take these blank figures that are called "Munnys" & totally make them custom to your own ideas. They have HUGE contests where artists display their creations. I think these were from a show at the famous urban toy store called KID ROBOT. I love these, they're hilarious. I also like that they limited the palette to just black, white, & grays ( with a little bit of YELLOW )...that's great. Is that suppose to make you think of "B&W TV" or an old vintage photograph? Very cool.

A very cool website called CUBEECRAFT has done some amazing BATMAN paper toys that everyone can make for free! The website features "Action Figure" Cube Toys you can download, print, & then make. So far he's done 2 versions. There's one that looks like Batman from the 1966 TV Show, Adam West. He also made one that looks like Batman from the Batman Beyond animated series. Also, at the website, there are Cube Toys of Indiana Jones, Hellboy, Pee Wee Herman, The Rocketeer, Mario, Ironman, & many many more! KUBRICK'S BATMAN and THE JOKER BRICK BEAR Action Figures!

Here's a brand new Batman and Joker Urban Designer Toy to keep an eye out for. This is a set of "Bricks Bears" by Kubrick. ( They are kinda sorta like Lego Figures, but cooler! ) These usually have a foreign release, like Japan, but should also appear in the US as well. I really love the use of "retro graphics" on both the action figures & display box. It's art from the 80's that are kinda groovy, man! The Joker figure doesn't have any eyes & that is kinda creepy! Also, I love the fact that it's the blue/gray Bat-Suit for the Batman Bear, the one with the yellow bat-symbol logo & yellow Bat-Belt...very cool! These are pretty nice and I will for sure have to have these. They will be MINE!!

BATMAN HOTROD CAR Resin Model Kit Design

The other day a friend reminded me of a wonderful website called SUGAR FROSTED GOODNESS. It's a site for "Graphic Design Nerds" ( I mean that in a good way, ha ha ) who appreciate good design in the skills of graphic & commercial art. It's also a neat page for visual eye-candy. While there I discovered a Graphic Artist / Illustrator named Chris Parks. He's from Wichita, Kansas & his main focus are corporate logos. He also likes to dabble in vinyl toy designs & came up with this amazing "Hot Rod Car" resin model kit featuring...Batman!!

And here's another photo of the packaging & another "paint variation" on the kit. I Actually like the 2nd one better! Mainly because the colors of Batman are more like the "comic book version". Click on it to see a larger, more detailed, photo. I also love the graphics on the box. They look a lot those "Weird-O's Hot Rod Model Kits" from the 1960's. Especially the font design...nice!

Concept Art: Custom BATMAN FIGURE Urban Toy Designs

I found a very talented guy on MySpace who did some very cool concept art designs for a Batman Vinyl Urban Toy idea. He had a few variations & for this article I picked my 2 favorites. The left one is the Classic Blue, Yellow, & Grey suit ( I like this one best ). The one on the right is the more modern black & dark-grey version...cool!
