Batman News - Teacher in New Jersey Inspires Children Using "VOWEL-BAT" Song!

Here at the Bat-Blog we have a good friend named Lisa ( AKA "BatChick" ) who is a popular Kindergarten Teacher in New Jersey ( See Photo ). For her annual teacher's review last week she incorporated the catchy YouTube "VOWEL-BAT" song, by educator/singer Shari Sloane, into her 3 hour presentation. Dressed in almost full bat-costume for her class, the presentation was a huge hit!! The song proved to be so popular with the kids as a learning tool that the other Teachers in Lisa's school are using it in their classrooms now. You can listen to the song down below but I gotta warn you, it's totally mind-numbing, ha! But, if it teaches Children to learn vowels, become better writers & maybe love reading....then I approve!

THE WAYNE MANOR - Holy Rock and Roll History, Batman!

Here's a wacky piece of Bat-History that I never knew about. Back in the mid-1960's there was a nightclub in Sunnyvale, California named The WAYNE MANOR. The club was decorated like the Batcave with Batman-themed wall murals. Plus, the wait staff all dressed-up like Batgirl or Catwoman, MEOW. It only lasted a little over a year but it must have been really really great! I was only 3 years old at the time it was open but I know I would have loved it, ha! This is sort of painful to see but it is a part of bat-history so here we go! This is the Original TV Commercial for the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER Movie Soundtrack as found on the VHS film release ( the music is kinda neat to hear again ). Also, in this video clip, you get you see Val Kilmer as Batman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Jim Carrey as The Riddler ( Carrey was actually pretty decent as that character ) & Chris O'Donnell as Robin.

ADAM WEST THE BAT Will Be In Concert in Hollywood,CA!

Hey everybody, a Punk Rock group called "Adam West: The Bat" will be playing in North Hollywood, CA on April 23rd, 2010 from 8PM - 2AM. They will be playing at the CIA - The California Institute of Abnormal Arts. The group is made up from a group of cosplayers who like to dress-up as Batman, The Flash, & 2 Jokers! BATMAN: THE MUSICAL "Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?"

OK, Reading the title up above you might be thinking this post is all about the recent Batman: The Brave and The Bold episode starring the Music Meister, but NO, it's not! This is about a real-life Broadway-Type Musical that Warner Bros had planned for Batman way back in the late 90's when Tim Burton just got done directing his 2 Batman movies. In fact Tim Burton was set to direct this play & they even hired a famous song writer to come up with a few songs. Unfortunately for all of us it never really left the ground. But this video is a performance of one of the songs they designed for the show. It was called "Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?" & would have probably been sung by The Joker, ha ha! Now, this video here is a fan-made production using photos of Batman Toys along with the song. The funny thing is about 7 or 8 of the pics were taken from the Bat-Blog. But, it's kinda cool so I'll let it slide...enjoy!

When the Dark Knight is not fighting crime in Gotham City he likes to sing on stage in a rock band. No, really, I have the video to prove it! OK, this is not the real Batman but a group called "Innuendo".They did a cover to Queen's classic hit "One Vision". They performed it LIVE this last Halloween at a Rock Club called Geronimo's in Rome, Italy. I think they did a pretty good job on this song! Not bad at all! Our buddy Kenneth sent us this extremely rare Vintage BBC British Television video showing Neil Innes as Batman doing a Batman-themed comedy skit. Andy Roberts is playing the guitar, dressed as Robin. Now, the name of the show was "Rutland Weekend Television" & was written by Eric Idle. I know everybody would recognize him as one of the main actors in the Monty Python & The Flying Circus TV comedy team ...just do a quick search on the Internet & you'll know who he is! In the mean time, enjoy this super-wacky crazy song called "Boring". WARNING: You will not be able to get this song out of your head for the rest of the day, ha ha!

Batman The Brave and The Bold: SOUNDTRACK From "Mayhem of The Music Meister"

The Caped Crusader faces a new villain in the upcoming Batman: The Brave & The Bold episode, “Mayhem of the Music Meister!” The episode, from Warner Bros Animation, features the voice of Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) as the Music Meister, a menacing villain who is able to exert powerful mind-control through song. Producers and cast members received a standing ovation following a sneak-preview at Comic-Con this past July and, after much anticipation, the episode will finally air Friday, October 23rd on Cartoon Network.

Then, on Saturday, October 24th, New Line Records will release Batman: The Brave & The Bold: Mayhem of the Music Meister! – Soundtrack from the Animated Television Show digitally on iTunes and other digital music outlets. Amazon.com will offer fans the exclusive option of purchasing either a hard or digital download copy of the soundtrack. The soundtrack will feature all five original songs from the episode as well as the highly sought Batman: The Brave & The Bold theme.

COOL BATMAN MERCHANDISE From The Netherlands, Germany, & Argentina!

For this post I thought I would share some photos of some very obscure pieces of Batman Memorabilia from around the globe. The 1st bat-item is a Set of Batman ( Comic Book Version ) Story / Music Cassettes. These were made in the Netherlands in the early 1980's. There's actually a lot more of these in the original set but finding even these 3 are pretty difficult. I really really like the cover art. The next item might look just like it's American-counterpart but it's totally in German! Yes, it's the 1989 BATMAN MOVIE Novelization Paperback Book, but from Germany. I wonder if these are as common there as the US versions are here, ha ha! But still, it's really cool that it is "foreign language". On to the next photo we see a toy made during the BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES cartoon craze in Argentina! This is one of those Batman: Drawing Play Sets where there's a machine you load plastic tiles into that have "drawings" embossed on them ( raised design ). You snap them into a template, load a piece of paper, & then scratch a pencil across to get the artwork on your paper. It creates an image that is black-outlined & you can then color it. Sort of like having a manual "coloring book sheet maker" in your home, whew! Anyways, it's so great that it's from South America and it's got the BTAS thing goin' on. Plus, seeing the Joker on the box is kinda cool too.
