Fans of the 1966 BATMAN TV Show are gonna totally love this! LA LA Records has recently come out with the original "BATMAN THE MOVIE" motion picture soundtrack on CD! Holy Re-mastered Re-issue! Nelson Riddle’s original motion picture score to the 1966 Twentieth Century Fox feature film BATMAN: THE MOVIE, starring Adam West, Burt Ward, Lee Meriwether, Cesar Romero and Burgess Meredith, and directed by Leslie H. Martinson. Mr. Riddle’s propulsive jazzy score exemplifies the classic 60’s incarnation of the beloved Batman icon and is the perfect compliment to the film’s campy excitement. Produced by Nick Redman and Mike “BAT”essino and edited and mastered by Mike “BAT”essino, this release of Nelson Riddle’s BATMAN score boasts much-improved sound quality, includes a never-before-released cue “Bruce And Kitka”, and features the bonus premiere track “Submarine Battle,” in which “BAT”essino cut together tracks to re-create the score to the submarine climax as heard in the film. Recently I got my hands on a fresh copy of the brand-new BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM Movie Soundtrack Limited Edition CD & I've been listening to it the last few days. Oh my GOD, it's AWESOME! We reported this new product here awhile back & the response has been pretty good. For those that missed it here's some basic information: La-La Land Records, the company that brought you the BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES CD SET a few months ago, has now released a new version of Shirley Walker's 1993 BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM Movie Soundtrack. It's available now ONLY AT their website ( link button down below ). Remastered and expanded, ( more than 27 minutes longer than the original CD release ), this is the definitive version of Shirley's amazing score! It features two bonus tracks & comes with a 12-page CD booklet that includes exclusive, in-depth liner notes. This is a Limited Edition of only 3000 units & I expect the thing to totally sell out like the B:TAS one did. The photos you see here are some I took late last night & it shows the front, the back, the insides ( with & without the CD ), & the CD itself. The booklet has some interesting trivia about the film & some neat graphics. Speaking of graphics I really like the picture of "Batman hitting The Joker with all the Playing Cards flying around" that you get to see when you remove the CD from it's case...kinda neat. But, the main thing is the music & on this special CD the quality is extremely excellent, very well done. If you click on the "Music Button" down below you can hear a small clip of the Main Title. Now, the soundtrack to this film as been released before but it didn't feature ALL the music fro the movie. This one does, it's great & I can very highly reccommend it for ANY Batman Fan!
For people who have been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile you might remember a few months ago we introduced a new Batman product from La-La Land Records that was a special 2-CD set featuring the music soundtrack from the BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES TV Show. Well, that CD was a total success ( I think it totally sold out! ) & now La-La Land Records plans on releasing another Batman-related CD titled BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM. This, of course, was the animated film featuring the characters from the TV series. Back when this movie came out it was a complete smash hit & has now become a cult classic among fans of both Batman & animation. It was a really great film! Well, next Tuesday, at 12pm PST, La-La Land Records will start taking orders on the La-La Land website for this brand-new Limited Edition CD... Shirley Walker's complete score to the feature film BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM. Completely remastered and more than 27 minutes longer than the original CD release, this is the definitive version of Shirley's complete, amazing orchestral score. It will also contain a twenty page CD booklet that features in-depth liner notes! It will also be a Limited Edition of only 3000 units which means it will probably sell out like the others have. Please remember that you can only buy this product directly from the publisher & it will probably not be on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or other websites like that. OK, Awhile back we reported here about a brand-new Batman product of the music soundtrack CD ( 2 - Disc Set ) of BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES. As a HUGE FAN of this extremely well-done classic television series I could not have been more thrilled. Well, I received a promo copy the other day & have been listening to it the last 2-3 days. It took me forever to hear all of it because it's around 2 1/2 hours long! Oh man, the music is beautiful & the quality is really great too! Here's the basic information about the soundtrack, The thrilling orchestral scores from the acclaimed Warner Bros./D.C. Comics animated series BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES are finally unleashed in this spellbinding 2CD Limited Edition pressing. OK, you just read the company's info, here's mine: It comes with 2 CDs, a 20 page booklet that is actually well-written, & is limited to only 3000 units ( which is really not a lot & I expect this thing to sell-out pretty easily ). It was created by a company called LA-LA LAND RECORDS & you can really see the love they put into it. The overall design of the entire thing is very well done & my favorite part, this will be kind of corny maybe, but when you open the CD Case the very 1st thing you see, on the left side, is a photo of the composer Shirley Walker. They print the words, "In Loving Memory ...SHIRLEY WALKER 1945 - 2006". Ya see, she died very recently & she was very well respected by a lot of music fans. She did an incredible job on this cartoon ( among others ), & was really loved by a lot of people in the industry. Seriously, her music is great & she was also a very nice person. I thought that was very sweet & sort of a very classy thing to do as most published music CDs would not do a thing like that...very very cool. But, I'm sorry, back to the actual product. The music is really wonderful & will bring back a lot of memories of this awesome animated TV series. Of course it includes the classic TV Intro Theme Song done by Danny Elfman, which we all love. But, even the rest of the music is a total joy to listen to. If you go to the LA-LA LAND website there's a published track listing that shows all the songs on the 2-Disc Set. A few of the songs are "clickable" & you can listen to a few MP3 samples to get an idea...very nice! I guess one thing I should mention too is that this merchandise will ONLY be available at their website ( and maybe at some other obscure "music fan" sites ) & is reported to not be sold by other sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. So, if you're interesting in buying it then be sure to visit the link button down below. I guess I should say one thing. On a personal level I very seriously LOVED this Batman TV show & the fact that La-La Land Records did such an amazing job on this soundtrack really feels me with a lot of pride. The respect & love they put into this project is well appreciated by me & I know if you get a copy you'll love it too.
It's official, La-La Land Records will be releasing the original soundtrack to the Warner Bros TV Show Batman: The Animated Series! This special CD set will feature music by Shirley Walker, Lolita Ritmanis, and Michael McCuistion. It will also have the now-classic “Batman Theme” by Danny Elfman!
The release date is December 16th, 2008, with pre-orders starting on December 2nd, 2008. This is a limited edition collector's set ( they're only pressing 3000 copies ) and will be available only at the La-La Land Records website and a few other sites ( I'm not sure if it will be on Amazon though ).
