Check out this great music video. Well, there really are not any visuals, just a still photo, but the audio is good. This is Burgess Meredith, as the Penguin from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show, singing his "Penguin" song titled "The Capture". Also pictured up above is the original paper sleeve cover for the super-rare 45rpm record. The music is actually pretty decent, WWAACCKK!
Here at the Bat-Blog we have a good friend named Lisa ( AKA "BatChick" ) who is a popular Kindergarten Teacher in New Jersey ( See Photo ). For her annual teacher's review last week she incorporated the catchy YouTube "VOWEL-BAT" song, by educator/singer Shari Sloane, into her 3 hour presentation. Dressed in almost full bat-costume for her class, the presentation was a huge hit!! The song proved to be so popular with the kids as a learning tool that the other Teachers in Lisa's school are using it in their classrooms now. You can listen to the song down below but I gotta warn you, it's totally mind-numbing, ha! But, if it teaches Children to learn vowels, become better writers & maybe love reading....then I approve!
Our buddy Kenneth sent us this extremely rare Vintage BBC British Television video showing Neil Innes as Batman doing a Batman-themed comedy skit. Andy Roberts is playing the guitar, dressed as Robin. Now, the name of the show was "Rutland Weekend Television" & was written by Eric Idle. I know everybody would recognize him as one of the main actors in the Monty Python & The Flying Circus TV comedy team ...just do a quick search on the Internet & you'll know who he is! In the mean time, enjoy this super-wacky crazy song called "Boring". WARNING: You will not be able to get this song out of your head for the rest of the day, ha ha!
"ZONK! ZONK!" Oh man, here's a totally hilarious animated music video done with the actual song "MIRANDA" sung by Adam West...it's groovy Batman time, baby!"ZONK! ZONK!"
I thought this was kind of funny, ha ha! Here are 2 musicians playing the 1966 Batman Theme Song. The music is actually pretty good. In fact, they ROCK!
This "Music Video" is pretty funny. It shows Batman singing the classic 80's hit "PRIVATE EYES" by Hall & Oates, a great song! Oh yeah, it's NOT ME, I swear!
Here's some sad news. According the the LOS ANGELES TIMES obituary page Neal Hefti, the musician & composer famous for writing the 1966 Batman TV Show Theme Song, has died at age 85. It's not exactly known yet how he passed away in his home but the family believes it is from natural causes. Through out the 1960's & 70's he wrote many songs that we all know. One example, other than the famous BATMAN THEME, is THE ODD COUPLE TV Theme Song. In an interview he once said that the batman Theme was the hardest piece of music he ever wrote. May he rest in peace. For more information about this great man please visit the LA Times website, here's a link:
Here's the 1966 BATMAN TV THEME SONG By NEAL HEFTI:
Here's a pretty cool video of the Union High School Marching Banding doing their version of the Batman Theme Song in 1994! It's actually pretty neat to watch ( and hear ) because they do a really great job & the costumes are awesome! If you watch it you'll see Batman, Catwoman & The Joker too! We're especially proud of this video because this school is from Oklahoma, our home state!
