First off I wanna say THANK YOU to everybody who entered. We had a ton of entries & I consider this contest to be a total success! It seems like everybody wanted to win this baby but unfortunately there's only one winner. I usually pick a winner out of the hat on the closing day, at midnight, but I didn't get home till very late last night so I did it as soon as I woke-up! The winner of the Bat-Blog Contest for this awesome CD Soundtrack to BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES goes to...Ricky H. of Albuquerque, NM. Congratulations Ricky! Please contact us by e-mail to confirm your mailing address & we'll get this out to you! I also wanna thank La La Land Records for donating this prize. Your creation of this Batman CD Soundtrack is seriously a work of art & I really appreciate that. Readers, please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because very soon we're going to be announcing another contest & the prize is gonna be one you don't wanna miss!
Here's a very cool Vintage Toy TV Commercial for Zeller's Department Stores in Canada. It includes some awesome animation of Batman & Robin fighting The Joker! Now, when you first play it you might notice some Bat-Blog propaganda, ha ha! Yes, I posted this on YouTube to spread the word about this fan-site. So, if you have a Blog, MySpace Page, or Website, then please embed it on your page...Thanks!
I recently received an e-mail from a guy at 27th Letter Productions. He wrote to tell me about a fan-made Batman Fan-Film his company did. It's called BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE. I decided to check it out & it's actually pretty good. OK, it's not a totally pristine-perfect movie but the story is well-written & the actors do a decent job. The camera work is nice too. Plus, there's a lot of characters you will enjoy like Batman, Selina Kyle ( Catwoman ), Tim Drake ( Robin ), & Mob Boss Rupert. The amazing thing is that their budget was only around $1000. The movie is a little over an hour long &, for the internet, is broke up into 3 parts. To check it out I have a link button at the bottom of this post. Remember, when you get there just click on "THE FILM" in their navigation bar. Afterwords, please leave a comment down below & let us know what you think about the movie.
This piece of Original Batman Comic Book Art was recently on eBay. It's the inked artwork of the very iconic cover to BATMAN # 465 by Norm Breyfogle. I remember when this hit the newsstands & it's always been a favorite. Be sure to click on the small image up above for a larger, more detailed, version. Thanks David for sending the link.
Actor Pat Hingle, who played Commissioner Jim Gordon in the Batman movies from 1989 through 1997, died on Saturday. He was only 84 years old. Friends of the family say he has battled heath problems the last few years. His last role was in "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" which came out in 2006. On a personal level I always liked this guy, both in the Batman movies, & many other films he did. Plus, as a regular person, he always seemed like a really cool guy. He will be missed. . . Rest in Peace. As sort of tribute I found this recent video of him talking about his life. It's titled "Pat Hingle, In His Own Words".
A Brand-New Batman Product to look out for is this GROOM N' GO Bath Set! It comes with a Bottle of Shampoo, a Can of Moldable Foam Soap, & a Play Shave-Razor. I really like the graphics on the can & even the display box, very cool. They're popping up at Target Stores so next time you're there be sure to grab one.
