Video: 1966 BATMAN TV Show Batgirl Compilation - On the Batphone
Here's a video I thought was kind of interesting. It's a small collection of Batgirl ( Barbara Gordon ) clips when she used to sneak into her Father's office to use the Bat-Phone! He was the Gotham City Police Department's Commissioner Gordon after all, with a direct line to Batman! The whole thing is kind weird...check it out!

BATMAN FANS Know How To Party in Brisbane, Australia!!

Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, we featured a photo of an awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Custom Bat-Suit Costume made by our friend Paul. He lives in Australia. Well, recently he & a few of his friends went to a convention event in Brisbane, all dressed-up in Batman related Costumes! We have all the major characters covered: Batman, Robin, Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face, Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon, The Riddler, & one other character who's name I forget at this moment ( Sorry, is it Anarchy? ). The great thing was they were able to get a few really wonderful photos during this time ( Please be sure to click on these pics for larger, more detailed, versions ). Now if I got the info correct, this 1st photo ( close-up shot ) was taken on the 2nd day & a couple of people changed costumes. But the other 2 pics were shot on the 1st day when they were really goofing around! The shot of them all walking towards you. That is a parody of the opening credits sequence of the JUSTICE LEAGUE cartoon ( imagine them in slow motion, ha ha ). The next one is a really famous parody that everyone should recognize right away. It's The Beatles ABBEY ROAD Album Cover!! OK, I really love all these costume pics but the homage to The Beatles just totally cracks me up! Ha Ha Ha, it's so GREAT! I wanna thank Paul for sharing these fun photos with my readers. Thanks Paul, everybody is gonna totally love these. I also wanna send a shout-out to all of your friends who got dressed up...you guys all look great & your costumes are awesome too...even the girl who's character I can't remember the name of because I'm totally stupid, ha ha! Oh man, I wish I had some of these for Halloween this year!

CUSTOM MEGO DOLLS : Batman, Robin, Gordon, & The Penguin!

I recently got an e-mail from a loyal Bat-Blog Reader named Roberto who wrote, "I LOVE your Batman collectibles blog!! My name’s Roberto Williams, and I’m a 42 year old Batman fan / toy collector / custom toy artist from Brooklyn, New York. I’d like to donate a pair of images of some Batman-related works that I’ve created. Perhaps you’d be interested in using them in your blog: First is an unfinished Batman and Robin Pencil drawing. This media on this piece is drawing pencil on Masonite board measuring 6 feet X 4 feet. The next three images are photos of some custom MEGO 8 inch scaled action figures I made: The Penguin, Commissioner Jim Gordon, and The Dynamic Duo. I hope you enjoy my work." Enjoy your work? Oh my GOD! These are totally amazing!! Seriously, I really love the custom work on these Mego dolls. The head sculpts are great & the attention to details on the clothing / costumes is awesome! Thank you so much for sending these. Also, when looking at the pencil sketch of Batman & Robin, I had NO idea this thing was so HUGE! That's very cool. I love when Bat-Fans get totally creative & make true ART like this. Thanks again Roberto & keep up the good work! Hey, if you make some more stuff then keep us updated! I also want to invite all other artists to send in their work too.

Actor PAT HINGLE Died - He played Commissioner Gordon in the early BATMAN Movies
Actor Pat Hingle, who played Commissioner Jim Gordon in the Batman movies from 1989 through 1997, died on Saturday. He was only 84 years old. Friends of the family say he has battled heath problems the last few years. His last role was in "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" which came out in 2006. On a personal level I always liked this guy, both in the Batman movies, & many other films he did. Plus, as a regular person, he always seemed like a really cool guy. He will be missed. . . Rest in Peace. As sort of tribute I found this recent video of him talking about his life. It's titled "Pat Hingle, In His Own Words".

The CLOWN TRAVEL AGENCY Viral Marketing, Part 3

OK, I was recently outta town & couldn't cover the whole "Joker Website" mess but our friend Zdravko ( from Bulgaria ) was on top of it. He wrote an e-mail saying, "Although it was night here when the Clown Travel Agency scavanger hunt started, I took part in it. It was all about picking up packages and following instructions in the addresses that appear on the site (2 new addresses per hour) and one of them was in Las Vegas, where my cousins live. So my cousin tried to get the Vegas package, but someone was there before her. After all the stamps were placed on the site, the list burned down and there was a message from the Joker telling you a new site - www.acmesecuritysystems.com/delos and a password - NEEDLE. He said that he needed you to crack the security system for him. If you could get through, you get a phone call from Jim Gordon...They even called me, in Bulgaria!". WOW! Thank you Zdravko for sending the report. Readers, he even made an audio wav of Jim Gordon's message but right now I don't have a way to post it so you'll have to go to the ACME Security Systems page & use the password NEEDLES to hear it.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION AD Batman's Commissioner Jim Gordon

I thought this was kind of weird... Here's a Public Service Announcement for the American Heart Association that ran in alot of DC comics in the early 90's showing Jim Gordon when he had a heart attack. He really did have a heart attack in the Batman comic books in 1991 & this sort of tied into it, that's cool. Be sure to click the small picture for a large, more readable, one. Oh yeah, by the way, Jim Gordon lived thru it... Thank God!
