Fred Hembeck's DAREDEVIL-BATMAN-AQUAMAN Mash-Up Parody Comic Book Cover Art

OK, if you're a Hembeck Fan ( and who isn't? ) then you're gonna totally love this comic book cover parody artwork! Fred Hembeck, famous cartoonist & artist, has been making fun of Marvel & DC Comics characters for years. A few years ago he started to create "Cover Re-Creations", which are basically a perfect copy of a classic comic book cover, but done in the Hembeck-style. Here's one right here. But this one is pretty interesting because it's a mock-up of a non-existent DETECTIVE COMICS cover that looks just like the iconic cover to Daredevil #7. This book was originally drawn by Wally Wood & was the 1st appearance of the, now famous, "red costume". Hembeck's drawing is a total copy of that but instead of drawing Daredevil & the Sub-Mariner he made it a Batman comic book with Aquaman as the villain...very cool! It's sort of ironic that Sub-Mariner & Aquaman are both "underwater guys", ha!

BATMAN Black and White DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Every Wednesday you can find 2 brand-new Batman-related desktop wallpapers ( 1024 X 768 px ) that you can't find anywhere else. We call it "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"! This time I thought I would go with a "Black & White" theme. The 1st one is a graphic done by a fan-favorite, the Super-Amazing Fred Hembeck! His funny cartoon-style is really great! He sort of did an homage to Batgirl with this artwork, nice. The 2nd one is the original commercial art used for the cover of one of those "Batman 1940's Dailies & Sunday Comics" books. Ya know, the ones that reprinted the classic comic strips from the golden age of Batman. They hired Peter Poplaski to design some art that had a vintage feel to it & he did a really great job! Do you have an idea for wallpaper or some image you would like to see? Send us an e-mail & let us know. We always try to have really good backgrounds & also a lot of good variety. Your suggestions usually remind us that, "Hey, I haven't seen any Robin, The Boy Wonder Wallpaper in awhile". Thanks.

Fred Hembeck's Classic Comic Book Cover Re-Creations

Every true comic book fan knows & loves the work of Fred Hembeck! For 25+ years he's been doing parody drawings & comic strips of famous Marvel & DC Comics characters that we all love. If you're not familuar with his work you should do some research....he's great & you'll be glad you did! Recently he's been selling some artwork made just for eBay. What he does is he takes a super-classic comic book cover & re-creates it with his own special style of artwork. Even though his style is sort-of cartoon-like, the details are awesome! Up above is a current example of a re-creation he did of a classic DETECTIVE COMICS cover, check it out! I put a pic of the original cover so you can see how his art is a funny, but pretty accurate, copy...pretty cool huh? ( You can click the small picture for a larger photo ). Be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for more Batman-Inspired Art!!
