Just released in stores right now are some extremely super cool BATMAN SHAKE 'N GO Toy Cars by Fisher-Price! Of course they're a part of the never-ending DC SUPER FRIENDS Toy Line. There's a Brand-New BATMOBILE for Batman, a JOKERMOBILE for Joker, and even a MR. FREEZE CAR too! Our Bat-Reporter Friend, Batmobilly, got some amazing shots the other night while he was shopping. I really like the look of these cars, but the packaging is so beautiful it could make you cry. No, I'm not crying, it's just that some ceiling fan blew some dust in my eye... really. Over at the Bat-Blog's Facebook page we recently met a very talented Graphic Artist named Andy Pemberton. He's a huge Batman Fan & since his Son is too he has even made a few items for his him. The first photo shows a nice pair of Custom-Painted Converse Shoes with images of Batman and The Joker from the "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" TV Show. This pair looks incredible & whoever does marketing for that show should sell these, they're great! But Andy's other shoes he has made are nice too. Check out the ones with Mr. Freeze ( Animated Series ) & Poison Ivy ( Comic Book Cover ) graphics... nice! Then, in the last photo, there's a few items Andy made for his Son. It's a Custom 1966 Batmobile-Inspired Bicycle Ride-On!! He also made him a Bike Safety-Helmet that looks like the Cowl worn by Adam West. Plus, there's a great Messenger Bike Bag with graphics from the animated intro to the classic '66 TV Show... AWESOME!! ( Thanks to Andy for sharing these pics & keep up the good work ).
Check out these cool pics! These photos were sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named John who loves to create Custom-Made Action Figures of his favorite Batman characters. Here's a room that all Batman Fans would love to live in. These pics were sent in to us by a friend over at Facebook. His name is David & he says that this is the room where he does a lot of artwork. You can see his Drawing Table over in the corner. There are some really cool pieces of Batman stuff laying around ( Toys, Statues, Books, etc... ) but, of course, the main focus of the room are the wall murals. There are 2 major themes here: Heroes and Villains. For the "Heroes Wall" we get Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing on a rooftop in Gotham City. It's done in the graphic art style of "The Adventures of Batman and Robin" animated series. Then, we get some Villains: Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Clayface, & Mr. Freeze. They're all hanging out in front of Arkham Asylum! The artwork here is very well done. Overall the room is extremely excellent! A special thanks goes out to David for sharing his personal space. We totally love this room!
Here are some BATMAN TOYS Wallpaper Backgrounds I made using some photos I found of some recently made ( 2003 ) Batman Collectibles. These Kubrick-styled Batman figures were made by a toy company in Japan called Medicom. Series one included: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Azrael, Mr. Freeze, and Scarecrow. I thought these pics were kinda fun & the images might be interesting for backgrounds... so, please give one or two of them a test!
Just in time for Christmas is this totally amazing DC SUPER FRIENDS TRIO Play Set! Our good friend "Batmobilly" spotted this treasure while shopping the other day at Target. It looks like Fisher Price has come out with a BATCAVE SUPER MEGA SET & it's totally AWESOME! Click on the picture up above for a larger version, it's beautiful! You get the Batcave, a Batmobile Car, the Joker-Bot, the Batwing Jet, 6 other accessories/mini-vehicles, and a TON of figures!! The characters include: The Joker, Robin, Batman, Superman, Penguin, Riddler, & Mr. Freeze. There are 11 figures in all with a few different variations of Batman, Robin, & the Prince of Crime, The Joker! WOW! This is CRAZY!! It looks like Fisher Price just keeps expanding their DC Super Friends toy line even more! They now have a whole brand-new set of figures & vehicles called HERO WORLD. There's a Transforming Batmobile, Batman & Batcycle, and Joker with his Funny Car. The figures include: Superman ( comes with Krypto The Dog ), Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, and The Joker. Plus, they're a whole new size, their scale is somewhere between Imaginext and the Super Friends figures. be sure to click on the last photo for a larger version where you can see the new stuff really good. OK, For "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would go with a Batman theme that celebrates ART. The 1st background was made using a drawing submitted by our friend Drew. Yes, he drew this amazing piece of art showing all our favorite Batman Villains! You got: The Joker, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, Two-Face, Clayface, Riddler, Poison ivy, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, & Killer Croc!! Whew, that's a lot of evil right there! Thanks to Drew for sending us this pic, he did a great job on it. The next wallpaper is a photo sent in by our friend Michael. He saw this thing in the front yard of a sculptor in California. I've featured this on the Bat-Blog before. It's sort of a famous landmark in CA. Anyways, I have always loved this piece of art, it's very clever, & I thought it would be kind of fun ( Thanks Mike ). For every person who is familiar with the Classic MR. MEN Children Books this post will be totally hilarious! A Graphic designer named "Seven Hundred" recently did a series of "Fake Book Covers" that are all a complete parody of the MR. MEN books but instead of the Mr.Men characters he used comic book super heroes. They're kind of silly ( which they're suppose to be ) but they're very well done & retain the "Mr. Men art-style". He did a lot of Batman ones & I'm only showing a couple of examples here. To see them all be sure to click HERE!
OK, it's no secret how I am totally goo-goo over Vintage Batman memorabilia & some of the best items, or at least the hardest ones to find, are from countries outside the United States. Check these out!! The 1st RARE item shown here is a 1966 BATMAN School Writing Tablet from Holland. Yes, it's Dutch! I totally love the graphics on the cover, great stuff! The 2nd pic is a newer item ( 1980's ) & comes all the way from Japan! The Japanese are known for their love of the Caped Crusader so it's no big surprise that they marketed a few pieces of merchandise to capitalize on the 1989 Batman movie craze. This is a Store Display offering Batman Keychains....how cool is that?! The last item is kind of weird but I totally love it. It's a Batman and Robin Candy Box from 1997! This was made in England, or the UK. On the back of each box were some Character Trading Cards you could collect. This one features Mr. Freeze. The next 2 were made from a pencil drawing sent in by our friend Brian. He said it is sort-of a 1920's style Batman. It's a "Steampunk" version. How cool is that?! I made 2 wallpapers out of this image because one is a traditional background & the 2nd one shows off the entire drawing. Nick & Brian, both you guys did really excellent jobs on all this artwork. Shown here is a beautiful graphic created by our good friend Sean Hartter. It's a fake Vintage Movie Poster / Lobby Card featuring Donald Pleasence as Mr. Freeze! Oh man, he would have been great in that role. I always loved seeing him in movies. He was the perfect character actor, very creepy! I know you guys have seen him, just do a Google Search sometime & you'll say, "Oh yeah, that guy!" It's also funny to note, that in this total fantasy film, Batman would have been played by Burt Reynolds, ha ha ha! I really wish they would have made this movie : ) Thanks to Sean for sharing his fun artwork.
Sony Entertainment just sent the following Press Release for their new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game ( with DC Comics ) & it's AWESOME news:
Victor Fries devoted his life to the hopeless task of curing his beloved wife, Nora from a fatal disease. He keeps her body frozen in suspended animation hoping that one day his experiments will cure her. One such experiment exposed him to a hail of super-coolants that altered his body chemistry. In order to survive, the brilliant cryogenicist must now be encased in his supercooled suit whenever the outside temperature is above sub-zero.
Although Batman offered to help Victor Fries, now known as Mr. Freeze, he refused because he was convinced that his own failures to save his wife are the fault of Gotham's Dark Knight. Armed with his Freeze Gun, Mr. Freeze partners with other criminals to steal the money he needs for his experiments and diamonds to power his freeze suit.

Here's some amazing photos from our good buddy Chunky B. who writes the excellent ECLECTORAMA Blog. His real work involves vending machines & he recently went to a special convention called the IAAPA ( International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions ). It was in Las Vegas and while there he came across this awesome new game based on the "Wack a Mole" Machine concept. It's the Official BATMAN WACKER GAME!! He also grabbed a flyer and scanned it for us ( that's the 1st pic ). As you can see, the premise of the game is to put on some HUGE Batman Gloves & when a Super-Villain pops-up out of a hole, you wack 'em! The villains include: The Joker, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Riddler, Two-Face, & Catwoman. The game has incredible graphics all over it, from ever angle! In fact, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life, ha ha! And that's saying a lot because when I'm not writing the Bat-Blog I spend most of my time at Major Art Museums & Galleries. I wanna thank Chunky B. for sending us the cool pics & thinking about the Bat-Blog, I appreciate that very much. I also want to invite you wonderful readers to check out his blog sometime. WOW! In response to asking people to send in their Halloween Costume photos to the Bat-Blog I got this one from a reader named Nick. Now, Nick is not IN the photo but this is his brother Paul dressed-up as Ra's Al Ghul. Paul's friend Josh is Mr. Freeze, & Josh's Brother Amos is The Joker. The 2 women are Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy but I don't think Nick knows their names. They were at the same convention, I guess. Either way, ALL of these costumes are totally & completely incredible! Thank you Nick for sending in this wonderful picture. Like all the other costume photos sent in recently it really is an inspiration. Please tell your Brother & his friends that all of their outfits are EXTREMELY GREAT!! I would be proud to wear any of these to a Halloween Party, or Comic Book Convention, any day!! Back in 1979 some tourist shot this video so that, in the future, we could see it! This is the SUPER FRIENDS event at the Cypress Gardens Water Amusement Park. Performers dressed up as Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Penguin, etc. all get totally crazy. Finding video, or even any information, about this event is really difficult. Plus, I don't think there is any audio in this video. That, or my speakers are broken, ha ha! But really I think the best part of the video is seeing the cool Bat-Boat! If you saw this event as a child then this video will bring back some great memories of a fun summer vacation!
OK, I know that the Batman & Robin movie was not that great, & the Mr. Freeze character in that film was totally lame, but this is "Batman News" so I thought I would post it, ha ha! You might remember awhile back we reported about the cool bat-memorabilia featured in a recent Profiles In History auction. Well, the Mr. Freeze Costume sold for $70,800 dollars! WOW! That totally blows me away. I always wonder who are these super-rich people who can afford to buy this kinda stuff, it must be nice! ( Yeah, I'm poor & bitter ). But Profiles in History always has some really amazing stuff & their website is worth checking out everyday.
