BATMAN AND ROBIN WALLPAPERS - 1966 Coloring Book Graphics!

These 2 Bat-Wallpapers were made using graphics from some older Vintage 1966 Batman Coloring Books that some long-time Batman Collectors might recognize! The one showing Robin, in the Bat-Cave using the Bat-Computer, is my top favorite. Wait! The one with the Dynamic Duo aboard the Bat-Boat is my favorite... OK, I can't decide, they're BOTH cool, ha ha!

BATMAN Collector Reference Photos - Vintage 1960's Toys and Books

One of the main functions of the Bat-Blog is to celebrate the joy of collecting Batman toys and memorabilia, both old & new. So, it was really great to get an email from a reader named Robson who wanted to share a few pieces from his Vintage BATMAN Toy Collection. Shown here is the 1960's Aurora Batman Model Kit, a couple of 1966 Coloring Books, and a 1966 Twistable Batman made by Marx Toys. The Coloring Books are kinda common but I have always loved the graphics on them. The Marx Figure is so extremely RARE that it's almost what Vintage Toy Collectors call a "Museum Piece". ( One last thing, I made the photo of the Model Kit into a BATMAN Wallpaper Background you can use to brighten your desktop - Click on it to see it's full-beauty! ). Christopher's BATMAN AND ROBIN TATTOO ART Photos

Check out this totally incredible tattoo of The Dynamic Duo, Batman and Robin! Christopher, a new friend to the Bat-Blog, was kind enough to share these wonderful pics of his Batman tattoo. The artwork comes from the original art for the Whitman 1966 Batman Coloring Book. Using an image that is sort of iconic is very cool. I totally love all the old coloring book covers & this is a great choice. The Tattoo Artist here did a fine job with the colors too. I wanna thank Christopher for sharing these nice pics & if any other Bat-Blog Fans out there get some ink done then please be sure to shoot us some photos. BATMAN is at the Target Store Dollar Bins Again!

I got a wonderful email last night from a Bat-Blog Reader named Matthew who reported that TARGET Retail Stores are carrying Batman-related merchandise in their "Dollar Bins" again, awesome! So, be sure to keep an eye out on your next trip there. The "Dollar Bins" are usually located near the front of the store, as soon as you enter. Personally I really love the fun stuff they sell. Matthew said he bought a Batman Sticker Pack (with a play scene), 2 Activity Books, and 2 Jumbo Activity Books. There were also a lot more items that he did not purchase like: Another Sticker Pack, Motion Stickers, 4 Packs of Crayons (Batman themed and Joker themed), Markers, Push-Up Pencils, and 2 little Childrens Books one of which was a Riddler story. These are just in time for Back to School! Plus remember, you are never to old to color in a Batman Coloring Book, ha ha! Vintage BATMAN Coloring Book From Argentina

OK, I'm wondering if anyone knows if this BATMAN Coloring book is an actual licensed product or just bootleg? ( Either way it's pretty cool ). It was made in Argentina around 1989 & the shape of the book is die-cut, which is interesting. The artwork is kind of cheesy but that's normal for a coloring book. It looks like it was made by a company called "Sylvapen". Does anybody have any information on this?

RARE 1966 ROBIN IN THE BATCAVE WITH BATMAN Coloring Book

A Bat-Blog Reader named Noah sent us some really great pics recently that we shared but I saved these for a separate posting. The other ones were all "costume-related" & you might remember the fun photo of his cute little kid dressed as Batgirl! Well, here's some photos of one of his favorite pieces in his bat-collection. It's an extremely RARE 1966 ROBIN IN THE BATCAVE WITH BATMAN Coloring Book ( That's gotta be the record for the longest name for a coloring book, ha ha! ). Anyway, he sent some very nice pictures of it. The cover artwork is totally amazing & the inside pictures, like the TV series, are just totally goofy! My favorite one has a caption that reads, "BATMAN WILL NEVER BE CAT FOOD!" I have this book in my collection too & it's actually a pretty hard one to find. Auction News: Original 1966 Batman Coloring Book Production Art

Last night, on eBay, the auction for the original production art for one of the 1966 Batman Whitman Coloring Books ended at $1,925.00. Now, if you ask me, that's a huge bargain. I mean, this item is totally priceless! This RARE piece of Bat-Memorabilia was offered by Golden Treasures of New York City. They always seem to have the most amazing stuff! Oh well, I'm happy for the winner & he's lucky I'm not super-rich or I would have outbid him, ha ha! ( Readers - Be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, versions ).

OK, a Bat-Blog Reader, named Barry, wrote me recently & said he seriously loved my Batman Desktop Wallpapers that I post every Wednesday ( Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday ) but could I please do something with retro-style graphics. Like maybe something with a 1960's Vintage Batman Item. So, I thought I would use some graphics from the cover of an extremely RARE 1966 Whitman Batman Coloring Book. BATMAN COLORING BOOK Reference Guide!

There's a good friend to the Bat-Blog named Charles who has a special focus within his Batman Memorabilia collecting & that is to hunt down ALL of the Batman Coloring Books that have ever existed! So far he doing a really great job & he was kind enough to send us some photos of his recent collection. Shown up above is a good sample of which Batman Coloring Books are out there. Of course my favorites are the 1966 ones but I also love the Batman: The Animated Series ones too. He also has a lot of the ones made during the many different Batman movies & those are great also. OK, ALL of these books are awesome! To be honest there are even a few I have NEVER seen so that's great! I wanna thank Charles for taking the time to photograph these ( good job ) & sharing them with the readers here. Thanks Charles. The main focus of the Bat-Blog, really, is to share the love of collecting Batman stuff so this set of photos proves that. Here's an amazing photo showing the original production artwork for one of the Whitman 1966 Batman Coloring Books. This was sold on eBay recently & it made me sick that I missed it. This is an item most serious toy collectors would call a "Museum Piece". It's very "one-of-a-kind" & will probably NEVER show up on the market again. I wanna congratulate the winner & let him know he has a RARE piece of Batman-History he can be really proud of. Vintage 1980's Batman Coloring Books I have Never Seen!!

Awhile back a Bat-Blog Reader named Jim sent us these cool photos of some recently acquired Batman collectibles. He said they're from the 1980's & he was happy to find them because he has never seen them before. I gotta admit that I don't remember ever seeing them either...how weird! There's four of them & each one has a different cover with another character. Familiar super-villains include The Penguin, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, & one character I have never heard of before, "World Destroyer"! Also, what is Hawkman doing making an appearance on the Man-Bat cover? Wow! Thanks Jim for sending the wonderful pictures. These have got to be extremely RARE! I want to invite all other readers with weird, unusual, Batman Memorabilia to send some pics today! Sharing fun, obscure, rare information about Batman toy collecting is the main purpose of this page!

Assortment of RARE Vintage 1960's Batman Memorabilia

The BAT-BLOG covers everything Batman but our main focus is the area of collecting. We sometimes cover news about the comic books, both old & new, but our favorite things are the awesome Vintage Batman Toys & Memorabilia. Here are a few examples of some RARE 60's items, mainly from 1966. The 1st item is a photo of the RARE & highly collectible 1966 AURORA Slot Car of the Batmobile from the TV Series, shown in it's original box. This is a Bat-Fan favorite & also desired by many slot car collectors for it's beauty & history. The next item is a fun coloring book featuring Robin as the main character on the cover. This was published by Whitman in 1966. The last, & most RARE item, is a felt pennant of Batman & Robin that was a souvenir of Saskatoon, Canada!
