BATMAN COLLECTING: 2 New Pieces To Watch For

"Being a Batman Collector" is really the main focus of the Bat-Blog. So, every chance we get, we try to feature Brand-New Bat-Merchandise or Older Vintage Toys. Here are 2 new items to keep an eye out for on your next hunt. The 1st photo is an AUTO WORLD 1966 BATMAN TV Show BATMOBILE SLOT CAR... in WHITE Color! Yes, besides making the actual Slot Car Set ( with track & everything ) Auto World sells just the car by itself. But they're not stopping there! They are also coming out with a few variations: the Classic "Black" Batmobile, a "Chrome" version, & a "White" one ( Shown up above ). Next is a very fun piece of Bat-Memorabilia, it's a BATMAN Belly Washers Bottle! This one was recently found in a Safeway Grocery Store ( Thanks Kevin ) & before you think you might already have this one, it is new & the figure on top is different.

Auto World's BATMAN TV 1966 BATMOBILE - The JOKER'S CHALLENGE Electric Racing Slot Car Set

If you're a long time reader of the Bat-Blog then you're already familiar with this incredible new bat-product coming out next January 2011. We were one of the very 1st websites to report on it & we have been crazy for it ever since. We're talking about the Auto World JOKER'S CHALLENGE Electric Racing Slot Car Set with the 1966 Batmobile! Well, here are some official photos of the actual box design & it's different than the ones we featured before, which were "prototype pics". I gotta say, the new packaging design is way better & I love that the graphic of the 1966 Batmobile Car is so prominent. It's really BIG & looks extremely cool. Also, another thing this toy company does is they sell the huge play set with both slot cars & track. Then, they also sell the slot cars individually. Well, shown here is the packaging for that too. The last photo is a "prototype pic" of the Batmobile. Oh man, I'm really gonna have to get all this stuff, ha ha!

Vintage BATMAN - THE ANIMATED SERIES Toys!

Here are some totally great pictures sent in by a Good Citizen named Kevin. I think he either wanted to share a few wonderful Vintage Items from his Batman Toy Collection ...or he wanted to torture me, I'm not sure, ha! You'll see what I'm talking about later, these toys are really really cool! The 1st item is a BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Slot Car Race Set by Tyco. It was called "Gotham City Chase". I have this item in my collection & have always loved it. The graphics all over the box are wonderful & the Slot Cars of the TV Cartoon Batmobile & Joker Car are very cool. Now the next item is actually a little better. Well, "better" might not be the right word but it is a lot harder to find ( more rare! ). It's the POWER PUNCH BATMAN Play Set. Basically it's just like the old ROCK 'EM SOCK 'EM Game from the 1960's but instead of robots you get Batman VS Penguin!! This toy was an EXCLUSIVE item at KAY-BEE TOYS. In other words, you could ONLY buy it at that retail toy store. I remember when it came out & it was sort of expensive. Maybe around $40.00? Which, at the time, I thought it was kind of over-priced, or maybe I was just broke ( ha! ), but it seemed like a pretty high price for what it was. But don't get me wrong! It's an extremely cool toy & one that I totally regret either not buying new or even finding later. The original box it came in was gigantic in size & the toy is pretty BIG too. Basically you & a friend would operate some levers & buttons to make 2 large figures fight each other. The figures actually threw punches & the heads would pop-up if you hit them just right. Sort of like a knock-out! I remember seeing this toy at Garage Sales a long time ago & it was always wasted! now, you never find this thing...it's just super-rare!! (( Check this out - The very last photo, up above, is actually a BATMAN VS PENGUIN DESKTOP WALLPAPER I made with the graphics from the back of the box! )) I wanna thank Kevin for shooting these wonderful photos. The JOKERMOBILE Will Be The Other Car in The New 1966 BATMAN BATMOBILE SLOT CAR Race Set

This is just a quick post to confirm that the 2nd car in the New 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW BATMOBILE SLOT CAR RACE SET will be the Jokermobile! We reported on this brand-new AUTO WORLD toy when it was news last May but there was some confusion on what the other slot car was going to be. Well, just take a look at this more current picture up above & you can see, it's... the Jokermobile! Yeah, sort of looks like a Vintage Nomad or Station Wagon, pretty cool!! The estimated release date for this cool slot cars set will be around October 2010.

New 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW BATMOBILE SLOT CAR RACE SET From Auto World!

The 1966 TV Batmobile Car has just resurfaced on the cover of the Auto World Slot Car 2010 Catalog!! It looks like they will be making a Special '66 BATMAN TV SHOW Slot Car Race Set with the Batmobile & another "Villain Car". I'm not sure which evil doer it will be because the prototype box art show a vehicle that looks like it belongs to the Joker & the Catalog says "Penguinmobile" where they show the race track layout ( see pics ). But don't worry, the Bat-Blog will let everybody know once we get some more information. In the meantime, please enjoy these photos & totally drool!! The 1st image is an idea of what the box art might look like. The remaining photos are directly taken from the Auto World 2010 Slot Car Catalog. Oh man, this looks extremely cool...I'm completely excited!!

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Gotham City Raceway - Slot Car Racing Set

Our good buddy "Batmobile Billy" recently sent us some photos of a new addition to his Batman Car Collection. It's a Slot Car Racing Set with a "Batman: The Brave & The Bold" theme. It's called "GOTHAM CITY RACEWAY!". It's made by TYCO RC, which I think is owned by Mattel now. You get a bunch of Race Track, 2 Controllers, a Few Cardboard Cut-Outs of Different Scenes, a Batmobile Slot Car, & Green Arrow's car. This is kinda funny because they usually make these sets with the other car being Batman's enemy ( usually the Joker ). This time it's Green Arrow, which kind of makes sense since they're always competing in the cartoon. Billy told me that the cars look really great ...but they're a lot smaller than usual. But either way this is a Batman Race Set I am gonna have to get because I really love the TV Show & this item looks really cool! ( Thanks Billy for sending the nice pics ).

Billy's Batmobile Collection : Part One

It's kinda weird. I know a ton of major Batman Collectors all over the world but here where I actually live ( Oklahoma City, OK ) I only know one. His name is Billy. He has an amazing Batman collection. I guess I should say "Batmobile Car collection" because that's his main focus. We have recently become friends & one day at lunch he said, "As soon as I get my new digital camera I'll have to send you some pics for the Bat-Blog." So, the other day I received a few e-mails loaded with these photos. Now the funny thing is that he made a special frame template to use with the pictures...I didn't know he was gonna go that far but they look pretty cool, very professional! This 1st set of photos show sort of 3 different catagories: Cookie Jars, Pillows, & Slot Car Sets. Billy, thank you for taking the time to photograph these. They look great & I appreciate that a lot! NEW BATMAN TOYS: Carrera GO ( 1:43 Scale ) Slot Car Racing Set

I already have way too many "collecting hobbies" that I can barely afford or else I would start to collect slot cars, ha ha. I have always thought they are pretty cool. Here's a nice example. In Germany there's a classic slot car toy company called CARRERA who specializes in high-quality slot car sets. The cars they make are extremely well-detailed. Later this year, around June or July, they're gonna release the Carrera GO (1:43 Scale) Batman "Hyperdrive Batmobile" & Joker-Mobile Slot Car Racing Set! The photos up above show the actual boxed race car set & then the 2 cars. ( In Germany they call the Batman's car the "Batmobil", I like that ). You also get a ton of track & everything to make a complete race set. I am also posting a photo of the "Banester" slot car that is modeled after BANE, a Batman Villain. This car is NOT included in this set but was one I found during my research. Preview: NEW The DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Toys & Memorabilia!

I've been collecting some RARE photos of some of the new DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie merchandise, just for you, that I have been seeing & thought I would post some today. There's a lot to look at so let's get right to it! The 1st photo is gonna be the new calender to get for 2009, THE DARK KNIGHT Movie 16 Month Wall Calender. I wish I knew what the inside photos were but the cover has amazing graphics so it should be pretty sweet. The next item was photographed at the recent New York Comic Con ( NYCC 2008 ) , it's the official SCARECROW Dark Knight Action Figure from Mattel. I love the facial expression of this character, sort of scary &"cartoony". The next 2 photos are from the Rubie's Costume Catalog. It looks like they're gonna go totally crazy making all kinds of Halloween Costumes, Masks, Party Accessories, & even Joker Make-Up! The next picture is one we have put here before but this time we get a nice close-up of the actual cars. This is gonna be the DARK KNIGHT BATMAN SLOT CAR Race Set by TYCO...looks cool! I really like the Tumbler Batmobile! After this is a photo of a Dark Knight Birthday Present Bag ( or it might be a Shopping Bag from the WB Stores, not sure. This photo was sent to me by a Bat-Blog reader with no explanation ). The last photo is sort of a prototype shot of what the THE DARK KNIGHT Playstation 3 Video Game Case is gonna look like. I have not confirmed that this is the actual item but you know they're gonna HAVE to make this movie a video game! Well, that's it for now. 2 New Photos of Batman DARK KNIGHT Toys That Will Be Released

This is a quick post to just mention 2 Brand-New Batman Toys that are coming out during The Dark Knight Batman Movie. The 1st one is a Batman Slot Car Race Set made by Tyco RC. Looks like they're gonna have the Tumbler Batmobile & a Gotham City Police Car ( GCP ) as the vehicles racing through the streets of Gotham City, very cool! The next pic shows a Tumbler Batmobile toy with the Bat-Pod motorcycle coming out of the front. I bet this happens in the movie ( sorry for the spoiler ) & it's kinda funny because a friend of mine the other day said this was gonna happen. Now he has proof!

Foreign BATMAN TOYS: Mexico, Argentina, and Italy

One of the types of Batman Toys I personally like are the "Foreign Toys". They're usually very very wacky!! Plus, it's neat to see a foreign language on them (I think it's great that the character is loved all over the world ). Yeah, I'm kinda weird, ha ha! Anyway, here's some very cool examples: The 1st photo is a "Bootleg" Inflatable-Toy of Batman. He looks kinda pretty with that bold red lipstick, don'tcha think? The 2nd picture is an extremely RARE Slot Car Race Set made by Polistil. I think it's from Italy or Poland. Either way the graphics are awesome! The weird thing is the Batmobile looks like the one from the 1989 Tim Burton movie but the graphics on the box of Batman & the logo are retro 1970's! The next 2 items are from our friends in Argentina. The 1st example is a plastic ring toss game that I have never seen before ( Thanks Paulo for sending that pic, appreciate that! ). The 2nd item is a small packaged puzzle. I think it's a carnival prize or something. It has some really nice graphics that look like they were swiped from Dick Giordano artwork. Whew! Vintage 1966 Batmobile HO Scale Slot Car By Aurora & Brand-New 60's Version By Playing Mantis

OK, Here's some photos you can use to compare the old Vintage 60's Thunderjet Aurora HO Scale Slot Car of the 1966 Batmobile ( TV Show ) with the brand-new version by Playing Mantis. About a year or two ago a company called Playing Mantis ( they make the new Johnny Lightning cars ) made a few different versions of a 1960's style Batmobile slot car. It was a part of their Thunderjet 500 series. They are also HO Scale. These are kinda common on eBay & you can find one "Mint-In-The-Box" for about $15.00 to $20.00. I'm gonna try to win one soon because they're so cool! The blue one sort of reminds me a little of the Superpowers Batmobile that Kenner made in the 1980's. Now, Out of the 2 different colors avaliable which one do you like better? The BLACK one or BLUE one? Please COMMENT below.

RARE 1966 K and B Batmobile Aurora Slot Car, MIB 1/24 Scale

One of the main things I seriously love about doing the BAT-BLOG is being able to communicate with so many other Batman Fans & Vintage Toy Collectors. For example, this morning I woke up & opened my e-mail there was this mail sent by a reader named Frank. He told me about this MEGA-RARE 1966 K & B Aurora Slot Car he has in his collection. It's "Mint in the Original Box", 1/24th Scale, & he said there are only about 12 known examples of this rare variation in the original box....WOW! Thank You Frank for sending in this great picture, it made my morning! I know our readers are gonna love this photo, I appreciate that! Assortment of RARE Vintage 1960's Batman Memorabilia

The BAT-BLOG covers everything Batman but our main focus is the area of collecting. We sometimes cover news about the comic books, both old & new, but our favorite things are the awesome Vintage Batman Toys & Memorabilia. Here are a few examples of some RARE 60's items, mainly from 1966. The 1st item is a photo of the RARE & highly collectible 1966 AURORA Slot Car of the Batmobile from the TV Series, shown in it's original box. This is a Bat-Fan favorite & also desired by many slot car collectors for it's beauty & history. The next item is a fun coloring book featuring Robin as the main character on the cover. This was published by Whitman in 1966. The last, & most RARE item, is a felt pennant of Batman & Robin that was a souvenir of Saskatoon, Canada!
