Here's a prototype picture from the recent 2011 Funko Toys Catalog showing the 2nd Wave of DC Universe POP! Vinyl Figures. Now the main reasons I'm listing them here is because one of them is Batman-related, Two-Face! But the other Superheroes are cool as well: Hawkman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, & Shazam! Right now there is no exact release date but I'm guessing sometime around August. Stay tuned to the Bat-Blog & we will let you know ( We'll also have some sharp photos of the actual products as soon as possible ).
You might remember reading about the brand-new SQUATZ toys here at the Bat-Blog about 2 weeks ago. We had some prototype pics of the packaging & mentioned them. Well, I have now seen the actual product, in my hands, & they're extremely cool! What I'm talking about is the new line of DC UNIVERSE / SQUATZ FIGURES made by Wild Planet. They are compact collectible figures of our favorite DC Comics characters embedded in dissolving tablets. They are sold 2 figures per pack. One figure is visible & the other is hidden. The list of Core Characters ( visible ) include: Batman, The Joker, The Penguin, Green Lantern, Superman, & The Flash. The list of Bonus Characters ( hidden ) include: Aquaman, Robin, Lex Luthor, Gorilla Grodd, Green Arrow, Hawkman, & Wonder Woman. Overall there are 13 different ones to collect. Each package will have a retail price of around $9.99 & you can find them at the end of this year, during the holiday season. In fact, I think they would make very excellent stocking stuffers. So, remember to keep an eye out for these later! Now, for the Toy & Action Figure Collectors out there, who will probably be collecting all of these, I have created this special SQUATZ - DC UNIVERSE Checklist! OK, actually it's a Desktop Wallpaper you can use as a background on your PC ( you could also print it out ). It shows the complete 1st wave of 13 figures. Awhile back a Bat-Blog Reader named Jim sent us these cool photos of some recently acquired Batman collectibles. He said they're from the 1980's & he was happy to find them because he has never seen them before. I gotta admit that I don't remember ever seeing them either...how weird! There's four of them & each one has a different cover with another character. Familiar super-villains include The Penguin, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, & one character I have never heard of before, "World Destroyer"! Also, what is Hawkman doing making an appearance on the Man-Bat cover? Wow! Thanks Jim for sending the wonderful pictures. These have got to be extremely RARE! I want to invite all other readers with weird, unusual, Batman Memorabilia to send some pics today! Sharing fun, obscure, rare information about Batman toy collecting is the main purpose of this page!
Who's the cutest little Batman? You are, yes you are! Ha Ha, TOY FAIR 2008 has presented a huge amount of new Batman Toys that will be released this year. Fisher Price ( Now owned by Mattel ) will release a line of plush toys called "BE BRAVE BUDDIES" which will be large Plush Toy variations of their DC Superfriends action figures. In the 1st wave we'll see Superman, Flash, Hawkman, and, of course, Batman! Now, you all know that I am gonna have to get that Batman doll, he's too gosh-darn cute, ha ha! I even like the fact that they made a Hawkman. No offense to that character but it's kinda weird they did him considering he's not as well known as like Superman or Flash. But, that's cool! Another cool thing is it looks like there will be 2 versions of Batman: Blue/Gray & Black/Gray...which color variation do you like best?
Here's your first look at an upcoming episode of the CW's The Batman, featuring a guest spot by Hawkman. In "What Goes Up... " (airing Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11:30 am/ET), the two Justice Leaguers team up to take on an alliance of their foes, Black Mask and Shadow Thief. The Terminator's Robert Patrick provides the voice for Hawkman.
