BATMAN WALLPAPER: Bat-Blog Promo & Bolland Catwoman Art

This week we feature 2 wonderful Graphic Artists, Scott Derby and Brian Bolland. The 1st Wallpaper is by a graphic designer with a great sense of style. His name is Scott Derby & I really REALLY like his artwork. He recently joined our Bat-Blog Message Board where he surprised all of us with some of his wonderful cartoon-style art! Also, he was kind enough to allow us to use some for this BAT-BLOG promo wallpaper. The 2nd featured artist is Brian Bolland. You might recognize his work from DC Comic's Animal Man or Wonder Woman. He also did the famous Batman/Joker graphic novel THE KILLING JOKE. Here, he illustrates ALL the many different Catwoman characters thru-out the history of the comic book....beautiful!

Vintage 1966 Batman Toys: Button & Jewelry

Here's 2 really great examples of some of the cool vintage items made during the 1966 Batman TV Series. The 1st one is a CHARTER MEMBER, BATMAN AND ROBIN SOCIETY Large Pinback Button in it's original bag with header card. I love the cool 60's graphics on both the button & card! The 2nd pic is a very RARE 1966 BATMAN CHARM BRACELET on Display Card. Again, the graphics on the card are awesome! I also love the charms in the shape of Batman, Robin, Joker, Penguin, and Riddler!

BATMAN FOREVER Movie Tie-In Food Products

I know there are a few fans of BATMAN FOREVER & I do like wacky movie promotions so here's some cool vintage food product tie-ins. Kelloggs made 4 different CORN POPS Cereal Boxes with the characters Batman, Robin, Riddler, & Two-Face. So did McDonalds for their large-sized French Fries. Homer Simpson says, "Mmmmmm, McDonalds French Fries."

Batman 1966 TV Series 40th Anniversary T-Shirts on eBay!

While cruising thru eBay the other night I noticed a friend of the BAT-BLOG is selling some Batman T-shirts that mark the 40th Anniversary of the 1966 TV Series. See the picture up above, that is printed, very large, on the back & the front has the Batman chest logo like Adam West had on the show ( sort of an oval shape with bat ). These are very VERY high quality T-shirts & the printing is bold/sharp. I already have one of these or would have bought one, ha ha! I suggest checking them out! Also, they are "on sale" starting at $8.00 & that's a great deal!! I mean, like you're almost stealing it, ha ha!

1966 Batman TV Series & Newer Batman Movie Caricatures

A new freind to the BAT-BLOG, Ben The Artist, send these 2 wonderful Batman-related caricatures. The 1st one is the 1966 TV Series & the other is one of the later movies. I think he did a great job on BOTH of them & knew right away that our readers would like them too! While writing this I had a problem spelling the word "caricature" ( Yes, I'm a moron ) so I looked it up in the Dictionary. This is what it said, "1. a picture, description, etc., ludicrously exaggerating the peculiarities or defects of persons or things". Hmm Well, ok, I can't argue with that but ya have to admit Ben did a really great job on these, especially the faces. I mean, that 1966 Penguin he drew looks EXACTLY like Burgess Meredeth!! Bob Kane Gravesite, Creator of Batman

Here's the real-life gravesite marker for Bob Kane, the creator of Batman, at the Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. It reads:
"Robert Kane aka Bob Kane....GOD bestowed a dream upon Bob Kane, Blessed with divine inspiration and a rich imagination, Bob created a legacy known as BATMAN. Introduced in a May 1939 comic book, Batman grew from a tiny actor into an American Icon. A "Hand of God" creation, Batman and his world personify the eternal struggle of good versus evil, with GOD's laws prevailing in the end. Bob Kane, Bruce Wayne, Batman--they are one and the same. Bob infused his dual identity character with his own attributes: goodness, kindness, compassion, sensitivity, generosity, intelligence, integrity, courage, purity of spirit, a love of all mankind.
