I really don't care about "Celebrity News", it's shallow & lame. But I came across this paparazzi photo the other day that's kinda cool. It shows the Actor Robert Downey Jr ( Ironman & Sherlock Holmes ) walking down the street with his Son. The funny thing is his Son, Indio, is wearing a Batman T-Shirt AND Bat-Symbol Logo Belt Buckle, ha! Yes, it appears he's more of a Batman Fan than one of Ironman!
HOLY GO-CARTS, BATMAN! Yesterday, May 15th, 2011, the company "Profiles in history" sold the original 1966 Bat-Cycle Go-Cart used by Robin The Boy Wonder ( Burt Ward ) on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show & Movie. This cart appeared in four episodes of the classic 60's TV series. It was totally custom & hand-built by Richard “Korky” Korkes and Dan Dempski. It sold for $30,000.00. In recent BATMAN NEWS, Essex County of New Jersey "employs" The Dark Knight to teach local kids about the dangers of drugs and crime. "Batman" was last seen marching in the West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade this past Sunday, showing support for a Junior Police Cadet Program in Newark. Very cool!
While surfing the Internet the other night I came across this very cool BATMAN INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE that would be perfect for any party! The thing that made it interesting to me is that the company renting it is located in Australia. Ha! I totally love that! I really like how the Dark Knight is popular all over the world. A friend of mine sent me this photo he thought I might like because it shows some kid in Haiti sporting a Batman T-shirt. Well, I guess that is pretty cool he likes Batman but this image sort of breaks my heart a little bit. The picture is from a recent story on CBS News covering "Haiti, One Year Later". As reported from The ONION NEWS Network here is an important story about Kim Jong Il, the leader of North Korea. Apparently he really really wants to play Batman in the next BATMAN Movie. So much so that he's will to give-up his Nuclear Program to get the role.
I totally love when Batman Fans get really creative & this is also a wonderful news story. This photo is from our friend Chris, who lives in Southern Illinois. To be exact, he lives in Anna, Illinois & every year ( around October 1st ) they have what they call "Pumpkin Town U.S.A." which is exhibited for a week around the city.The theme changes and this year it is "Heroes and Villians".The local High School chose Batman and this bale of hay is the basis for their display. Chris said they are working on other artworks which will feature Batman, Robin, The Joker & even the Scarecrow! This sounds extremely cool and we really look forward to seeing those as well ( Thanks Chris! ).
Our Batman Toy News Reporter BATMOBILLY spotted this amazing store display the other night at Toys-R-Us!! It's for the new Batman TRIO DC SUPER FRIENDS Building Block Toys by Fisher Price ( click on the pics for larger, more detailed, versions ). I bet that when he went around the corner & saw this thing his eyeballs must have bounced out of his head, ha! The big comic book news right now is the fact that Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, TX just sold a number one issue of BATMAN for $55,268.75. Yeah, you read that right, 55 thousand! There's a photo of it up above showing that it was graded at 5.5 condition by CGC. The guy who owned it is from Alaska & bought it at a garage sale back in the 1970's. So, I'd say that was a pretty good investment. According to the Associated Press there are only about 300 known issues of this book to exist.
Just a quick post to let people know that the "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" 2010 Hot Wheels Car is starting to surface in retail stores right now. In fact, my friend Doug sent these pics to me recently ( Thanks Doug! ). So, keep an eye out for it on your next trip to Target, Wal-Mart, etc. I love this car, it's...so...beautiful!

ABC News recently ran this story showing Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, Julie Newmar, & Lee Merriwether as they reunite at a Comic Con event in Anaheim, CA. It's an interesting news story about the 1966 BATMAN TV Show but the best thing is seeing them all together again. That, and I know some of the bat-fans wearing the bat-costumes & that's really fun to see!

Here's a weird photo I found on the web the other day. It's a woman in some foreign country protesting some issue, probably politics, & her sign says, "Where is Batman when we need him?". Now, the website was totally in Arabic so there was no way for me to translate it. I just thought it was kinda cool. Plus, I'm NOT trying to be political or anything like that. I'm just sharing something strange I found, that's all. If anyone knows what this is about then please let me know.
The Bat-Blog is extremely proud to announce the birth of Desmond, also known as the Little BatFan! He was born on May 6th, 2009, just 2 weeks ago! The proud parents are Seth & Melissa. I wanna congratulate them on their new bundle of joy! He is so extremely cute & I seriously love that little Batman T-Shirt, how funny! They told me they found it awhile back & had to wait until he was big enough to wear it. He looks really cool wearing it! I hope he becomes a Bat-Blog Reader in the future, ha ha! OK, I hate tabloid news but the tabloids in the UK are going totally nuts over this & it is Batman-related so here we go. The famous LA couple David Beckham ( Soccer Player ) & his wife, Victoria ( Posh, from the Spice Girls ) have 3 children. The other day, in Los Angeles, "Posh" took her kids out to a movie for one of the kid's birthdays. But, it seems that their youngest son, 3 year old Cruz Beckham, stole the spotlight because he wore his BATMAN BEYOND costume to the show. ( Thanks to Andrew for telling me about this event ). I have to admit that the choice of this variation of Batman is kinda cool. Now, back to "real news".
Here's a few really short, but extremely clever, Foreign TV commercials for NEWZ FM 98, a Morning News Radio Show. I forget the name of the country that they are from but I'm guessing Brazil or Peru! They all feature Batman in some humorous way & are pretty good quality!

Ya know, when it was 1st announced that Heath Ledger was gonna play The Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT a lot of people were very skeptical. He seemed like a strange choice & he always played sort of a "nice guy". Also, He had just played a famous role as a gay cowboy in a popular movie called Brokeback Mountain. Well, some super-talented photoshop artist made this really funny Batman Parody movie poster, ha ha ha! Now, after seeing all the publicity photos of Heath as The Joker, I think he's gonna be great! ( I trust Nolan ).
Ok, this next photo is not photoshopped, it's real! It's a screen shot of an ABC 7 News Report video. What happened was in Los Angeles, in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theature, there are people who dress up as TV, Movie, & pop culture characters to pose with tourists. That day there were some local union workers picketing & according to a quote by the LAPD here's what happened, "Batman reportedly insisted on using a portable toilet that was rented by local union workers who were picketing a local business on the boulevard. An argument between the performer and some of the picketers escalated, whereupon Batman proceeded to remove his cape and assume an aggressive posture, taunting the picketers and appearing to pick a fight. Another street performer dressed as Chewbacca came along and Batman apprised him of the situation. Chewbacca then removed his head-mask and confronted the picketers as well". Oh yeah! Batman & Chewbacca kickin' butt & takin' names, ha ha! Only in Hollywood!

Here's the official Hong Kong News Press Conference for THE DARK KNIGHT ( Batman 2 ) movie. Warner Bros is currently filming in Hong Kong. The Dark Knight film stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman. It will be in theaters on July 18, 2008.
