One of the most RARE pieces of Bat-Memorabilia was made by the Randy Shoe Company in 1966. Here are the Official Batman Sneakers with original box & hang-tag. If you click on the above photo you can get a larger, more detailed, picture of these beauties. The picture shows the top & bottom of the original box, the front & back of the hang-tag, & the awesome canvas shoes too! The graphics are so cool that I almost cry every time I see this photo, ha ha! Speaking of the photo, I stole this pic from the HAKES AUCTIONS website, don't tell them, ok? Actually, as a kid, I used to subscribe to their catalog & they always had the best stuff. They usually have a really great assortment of extremely RARE Batman Toys too. You can find them on the web via this link:
OK, the coolest Bat-Memorabilia are the items made in the 60's for the 1966 TV Series, just our opinion! Ha Ha, here's some great examples: The Whitman company, who is famous for their coloring books, also made some great character Frame-Tray Puzzles. I think the puzzles are great! They usually have awesome graphics & are nice for display but for some reason they really get a bum-rap! I mean, the prices for these are usually pretty low, weird huh? The next bit of vintage Batman memorabilia shown here is this really cool 1966 Batman Swimming Pool Ring-Float. We seriously LOVE the vintage graphics on this baby...nice! The last bat-item shown is also the weirdest! Here's the classic 1966 Batman Troll Doll. Ya gotta love that Batman Costume, ha ha! We're asking ALL Bat-Blog Readers who have photos of their favorite toys to send them in today. Mainly, because the Bat-Blog is ALL ABOUT the love of collecting, thanks!
This is the 600th post to the BAT-BLOG !! So, to celebrate, we thought we would post this super-great video that is a tribute to Adam West from the 1966 Batman TV Series!! It was written & sung by Wally Wingert in 1988 & made into a video by Belfman Productions. This song is a cult classic among Bat-Nerds ( we mean "bat-nerds" in a good way, ha ha ). The song is totally hilarious & pretty well done. The video is great too with nice editing & fun imagery....enjoy! Also, be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for the other 599 posts!!
Here are 2 really great examples of Vintage Japanese Batman Toys & Memorabilia from 1966. The 1st example is a really cool Halloween mask of Batman. What is really weird about it is...do they have Halloween in Japan? I guess it's for playing Batman after watching him on TV. The next item is really RARE & has some very awesome graphic art. It's sort of a "Pin The Tail on The Donkey" game but you put the poster of Batman's face on the wall, blindfold yourself, & then try to place the eyes, nose, mouth in the correct areas...cool!
This awesome photo was sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader who said this was for his son Adam's 5th birthday! Thanks for the great picture Jim & HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM!! We love it when people send us their photos to share so if you have a favorite then please e-mail us. Thanx again Jim.
Every BAT-BLOG reader knows that EVERY Wednesday is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday"! Today I thought I would post a few JOKER wallpapers in celebration of the new DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie where Heath Ledger is gonna be the Joker! The first graphic is the very 1st appearance of the Joker in the Batman comic books. It's a wonderful example of Golden Age Batman art! The 2nd picture is just a really great piece of artwork showing the Joker's face. Please feel free to use these to brighten your desktop or use in a MySpace layout....enjoy!
Here's a pretty cool video of the Union High School Marching Banding doing their version of the Batman Theme Song in 1994! It's actually pretty neat to watch ( and hear ) because they do a really great job & the costumes are awesome! If you watch it you'll see Batman, Catwoman & The Joker too! We're especially proud of this video because this school is from Oklahoma, our home state!
