Our friend Tito Contreras, who I think lives in Columbia, sent us this picture of a Vintage BATMAN BEGINS Movie Candy Bar Display Box. They were made during that film a few years ago by the National Chocolate Company & Tito thinks they will be doing something for The Dark Knight. Let's hope so because "Foreign" Batman Memorabilia is extremely cool! Tito also writes a fan website where he shares his joy of Batman Collecting. It's called "Batiblog De Tito". If you can't read it just try "Babel-Fish Translator", it helps. Otherwise there are some very neat photos to enjoy. Here's a link button:
"You got chocolate in my peanut butter. Oh yeah, You got peanut butter in my chocolate". OK, I bought one of THE DARK KNIGHT Reese's Peanut Butter Cups the other day that is in the shape of the Bat-Logo, ha ha! I had to take a picture to share here because it's kinda funny. They really make it in the shape of a bat! This promotion is gonna be kinda wacky. Hershey's is even having a "FIND THE BAT-SIGNAL AND WIN" Contest. Click on the Reese's Candy Logo for details:
Hershey's Chocolate Company is doing a major promotional tie-in with The Dark Knight Batman Movie where they are having a contest called "FIND THE BAT SIGNAL AND WIN". As reported here at the Bat-Blog they will be making a special "Dark Knight Batman Candy Bar" that is gonna be the Reese's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups ( Check the Bat-Archives ). There will be posters, counter racks, display stands, all kinds of promo material with Batman all over it. I think the contest is giving away a special motorcycle, not exactly sure yet. They're being kinda secret about it right now but you can visit the Official Hershey's website by clicking the REESE'S BUTTON down below. If for some reason their website doesn't work it's because they're working on it. Come back & try again later. Oh yeah, the news about the contest will appear there on May 15th, 2008.
I hate being stupid! What I mean by this is I can only read English, ha ha! Here's an example: I found a very cool photo showing a "foreign comic book ad" where they promote a special offer of a "Superhero Airplane" inside Nesquik Chocolate Milk Drink Mix. There were 4 planes to collect: Superman, Wonder Woman, Robin, & Batman! If I could only get 2 of these you know which ones they would be! I also like the actual product packaging too. I wish I had photos of the real thing, that would be cool. It's hard to tell but I also don't know if these were given away FREE inside the package or if they were a mail-away item where you had to collect points. It might say so in the ad but again, I am stupid, ha ha! The copyright information is too small to read but I'm guessing this was from the early 1980's, maybe 1981-82. If anyone knows the language or country please let me know. I'm gonna guess Argentina or Brazil & I'm pretty sure the language is Spanish.
OK, Here's a recent report from our friend in Argentina named Ramiro. He says there is a chocolate company in Argentina that is releasing some new Batman Premiums, small figures that are prizes with candy. The photo he sent us shows what the box looks like & an example of the Batman-related characters. You get a small chocolate bar, a sticker sheet, & a figure. Actually there are almost 30 of these figures & the weird thing is that most of them are Marvel characters. ( We're just showing the Batman ones here ). I would love to have one of these boxes!!! I think the graphics are cool. I would also like to have some of the Batman figures but no one is selling them on eBay. Actually there is one guy trying to sell them for $20, each! I think that's too much to pay, what do you think? Ha Ha. Oh yeah, on a side note: Ramiro has started his own blog page that's all about Batgirl & Toy Collecting. I've been pretty impressed with how good it's looking. Here's a link to check it out ( it's in Spanish but the graphics are cool ).
