THE EVOLUTION OF THE BATMOBILE

Here's a graphic image that has become pretty popular lately on the internet. The images are very BIG so you will have to click on each individual graphic to see the whole thing. I mean, this thing is HUGE! It's called "The Evolution of The Batmobile" & it's brought to you by both the BATMOBILE HISTORY and CAR INSURANCE websites. I kinda know the guy who does the "Batmobile History" page & it's great! It's been a favorite of mine for a long time & is an awesome reference for every Batmobile ever made. Now, back to this picture. Basically, it covers the entire history of the Batmobile car & besides being sort of educational, it's actually a lot of fun... check it out!

New DC UNIVERSE ONLINE STATUES - Batman and Catwoman

OK, Since the Bat-Blog is ALL about the Dark Knight I'm just posting photos of the Batman-related statues, Batman and Catwoman. But before I get ahead of myself, here's the deal. For 2011 DC Direct is coming out with a huge set of statues to celebrate the entire DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game world. They measure approx. 7 1/2" tall & are cold-cast porcelain. They're also based on the comic book art of Jim Lee. So far there are 10 statues planned to be released in small waves during 2011 but I think they will add even more once the video game becomes very popular. Who are the characters made so far? You have Batman, Catwoman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Zatanna! Video - DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game Footage

Today, January 11th, 2011 ( 1-11-11 ) is the day that DC UNIVERSE ONLINE opens up so I thought I would post this nice instructional video from Gamespot. It shows how you create a character & begin the game. It also has a lot of tips on how to use weapons & get around the environment. Also, It looks like you're going to have to have a pretty powerful computer to play. Check out this "System Requirement" list:

New BATMAN and JOKER 1/6 Full Action Figures - Vintage Version

Here are some brand-new Batman Toys for Collectors to keep an eye out for. From the Takara Tomy EnterMedia company in Japan we get these two 12" BATMAN and The JOKER Action Figures, Vintage Version. I think what they mean by "Vintage Version" is that these figures look like they're from the 1980's ( or earlier ) because Batman is wearing his classic blue-gray-yellow outfit ( My favorite ).As a side note, before you totally fall in love with these new figures please keep in mind that they are going to be very very expensive.

BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD - Art Direction For a Future TV Cartoon Episode

This image up above comes from DC Comic's website & shows the extremely cool art direction for a future episode of "Batman: The Brave and The Bold". The main guest for that day will be Bat-Mite & the thing that's gonna happen is that Bat-Mite is going to pop Batman into multiple dimensions where he will be totally different in each one. The photo above shows Batman & Robin in a "Vintage MAD Magazine" type world. In fact, the characters there are called "Batboy & Rubin", ha ha! This episode is also going to have a segment where the Dynamic Duo are in the Vintage Japanese BAT-MANGA World! The art style in the animation will totally look like the graphics drawn by Jiro Kuwata in the 1960's. This image down below is from Chip Kidd's recent BAT-MANGA Book & shows what the art could kind of look like ( we don't have an actual image yet from the TV show ). Now, this episode looks like it's going to be totally great so please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because you know we're going to be all over it, ha!

Jason's BAT-MAN-CAVE Batman Toy Collection Room

Check out this amazing Man-Cave. I mean, Bat-Man-Cave! Our friend Jason sent us some wonderful photos awhile back of his Batman Toy Collection & in the process we got to see an extremely well-decorated room. At the time he sent these photos I was having major issues with my email server so most of the pics were ruined. Now, we get to see them in all their glory! You can tell that a lot of thought went into creating this room. Many posters/art prints are framed & look great on the wall. There are a few display cases featuring cool bat-toys. Then, there's the media center, which is nice, but I totally love the custom-made bat-symbol lighting fixture that is above the TV. I think I could totally live there! I'll just sleep on the couch, don't worry about me, ha! Thanks for sharing these pics Jason & sorry it took so long to get them up here. Vintage 1966 Parade Photo - ADAM WEST as TV Batman

Here's a wonderful vintage photo from the 1960's. I think the actual year might have been either 1966 or '67. It shows Adam West as Batman ( in his TV Show Bat-Suit Costume ) riding in the back of a car during the Aqua Fest Parade in Austin, Texas! Oh man, I bet every little kid in the audience totally freaked-out on that day, ha ha! Thanks Paul for sending this rare pic. It's a very interesting piece of Bat-History.
