Here a very cool mini-documentary following the viral marketing campaign for the Dark Knight Batman movie. Of course all Batman Fans remember all the hype this series of events created & it was highly successful. Personally I remember the total nightmare of having to stay on top of all of it to be able to report all the news here at the Bat-Blog, ha ha! But overall it was really a blast & I enjoyed it a lot! I just hope they do something like this again for the next movie because even though they NEVER came to my city ( my ONLY complaint ) they did give away some really great collectibles that they mailed to you. In fact, as I write this article, I can see my framed HARVEY DENT FOR DA Political Campaign Poster on the wall!

OK, we have figured out that the 2 meeting places given by the Dark Knight Viral Marketing website CITIZENS FOR BATMAN is Chicago & New York City. CITIZENS FOR BATMAN Viral Marketing Website for THE DARK KNIGHT Movie!

On Tuesday, June 8th, one of the Official Viral Marketing Websites for the Dark Knight Batman Movie, named CITIZENS FOR BATMAN, will be featuring 2 special events & a "Live Video" of the events. For starters their main page features 2 sets of longitude/latitude coordinates. At each location they want people to gather for some kind of special event. The DARK KNIGHT Movie Viral Marketing Campaign: GOTHAM TONIGHT with MIKE ENGEL ( Anthony Michael Hall )

One of THE DARK KNIGHT movie's viral-marketing websites, called GOTHAM CABLE NEWS ( GCN ), will feature a special online TV show called GOTHAM TONIGHT With MIKE ENGEL. The show will be on this Friday (June 13th, 2008). The media newscaster for that show (Mike Engel) is played by Anthony Michael Hall. Their website reads, " Watch for an all-new episode of Gotham Tonight this Friday at Comcast On Demand! GCN's hard-hitting, high-profile news program takes on the biggest news in Gotham. Featuring world-renowned journalist Mike Engel -- who helped bust the Gotham "squid killer" -- and the GCN news team. Gotham Tonight. Gotham never stops, and neither do we." THE DARK KNIGHT ADVERTISING: Batman on Park Avenue!

In New York City, on the northeast corner of Park Ave and 23rd Street, a massive advertisement for the new DARK KNIGHT Batman film is being created. In an almost paint-by-numbers fashion this HUGE mural is taking forever to be painted. It gives the "event" an anticipation that must be driving fast-paced New Yorkers nuts! I seriously love these huge painted murals on buildings. This one, so far, looks like a beautiful piece of ART! Of course we all know it as the image to one of the many movie posters we have been seeing recently but to have it this HUGE is kind of exciting! I wish I could see it in real-life. I bet it's great. I wanna thank our new friend Michael, from Desedo Films, for sending this information. He writes a clever blog for his company that seems to really be into advertising & creativity, that's cool. Here's an interesting video that TOYSREVIL put up at YouTube that features the recording of Jim Gordon's voice. Basically, it's the phone call you receive from the "ACME Security Systems" website that is a part of the viral marketing by Warner Bros for The Dark Knight Batman movie.

The New DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Trailer Premiered at the NYCC 2008 Last Weekend!

OK, The big buzz is that at the New York Comic Con ( NYCC 2008 ) yesterday Paul Levitz, the President of DC Comics, very secretly premiered the latest DARK KNIGHT BATMAN MOVIE TRAILER!! I'm sure that it will be all over the net illegally ( hint: YouTube ) but I hope they ( DC Comics or Warner Brothers ) put it on the internet like they did the last one, in HD. There's also been some buzz lately with one of the Warner Bros viral-marketing sites where Jim Gordon makes an announcement to "look for something special" very soon...let's hope it's the new trailer. The reports I have read says it will kinda focus on Harvey Dent & Rachel Dawes a lot more than the Joker. Oh yeah, while I'm mentioning the NYCC they also gave out a few JOKER GOON MASKS to some lucky people. The picture up above is what some of them look like. There are more than these 2 but I was kinda lazy, ha ha. I'll have more soon once I find them.These should be flooded on eBay any day now, if not already, so if you want some get them soon! Me, I'm gonna wait till the scalpers have ripped everybody off & then swoop-in later & get them cheap.

THE DARK KNIGHT: Message From Jim Gordon, GCPD

Today, as a part of the Acme Security Systems ( Gotham City ) website I got an e-mail from Jim Gordon. It reads,

"My friend,

Indictments are about to be handed down. If you don't want your name on one, we'll need your full cooperation in an upcoming operation.

In case you haven't heard, we are struggling with a bit of corruption in the department. I'm not about to let the Gotham PD collapse in on itself, so we're taking action. We've identified a group of offenders that need to be apprehended. Problem is, most of these cops are hightailing it out of the city. But a C.I. just like you just gave us some information on their last known whereabouts. Now all we need is to catch them. This is where you come in.

Consider yourself on deck. I'll contact you next week, and let’s just say it's in your best interest to play along. County's not a place you want to spend the rest of your life.

Harvey Dent Political Campaign Speech Cancelled

There's been a lot of hype recently about the I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT website having a "Live" News Conference yesterday ( Sunday ) at 3:00 PM EST. Well, I was away from the computer but after getting back home I checked & it looks like it was canceled because of a "Hostage Event down the street at a local Gotham City Deli". Here's what the official report is: "Today's press conference was unexpectedly cancelled due to a hostage crisis located at a nearby deli. In a selfless move, Mr. Dent entered the premises, exchanged himself for a woman who was being held at gunpoint, and negotiated the successful release of the remaining patrons in the restaurant. Watch this site for updates. We will release more details when they become available." Wow! Dent is a hero! But, I wonder when they are going to have their actual news conference rescheduled? HARVEY DENT Press Conference Scheduled This Sunday, April 13th at 3:00 pm (EDT)

The Bat-Blog received an e-mail this morning from the Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) campaign (The Dark Knight viral marketing) today:


A lot of things in a campaign look differently from the inside. Take the current media wildfire. Now, there's not a shred of evidence linking Harvey Dent to any questionable behavior. But the media is creating such a ruckus that from the outside, it's impossible to see anything else.



Well, I can tell all of you that the Dent campaign is still going strong. We're still committed to bringing Harvey Dent's message of change to every corner of this city.



Harvey Dent is not letting the smear campaign impact our campaign. He's continuing to do what a candidate does -- and he's continuing to lead the charge against the corruption that's destroying our city.



So rest assured -- this campaign is not over. Indeed, it has hardly begun. We WILL take Gotham back.

I Believe In Harvey Dent will hold a press conference on Sunday, April 13th at 3:00 pm (EDT) for an important announcement regarding the campaign. CLARIFICATION: The Gotham Machinists Union has not "withdrawn their endorsement" of Harvey Dent for DA. Their spokesmen clarified that the endorsement has merely been "suspended" for the time being. The Harvey Dent campaign looks forward to the continued support of the Gotham Machinists Union.

They just keep creating them, ha ha! Here's another viral marketing site for The Dark Knight Batman Movie called CITIZENS FOR BATMAN! It seems that politics are getting kinda heated in Gotham City & some politicians want to have Batman placed under arrest! This page was made for all of the concerned citizens who don't want Batman arrested. In other words, it's for people who believe in what he's doing & actually care! At the bottom of their website you can send an e-mail & since I just signed up I don't know what they're planning to do just yet but it doesn't matter because Batman needs us!! "Holy Scavenger Hunt, Batman!" When the News Anchor Shauna Lake ( Channel 2 News ) said that phrase I laughed so hard I almost shot coffee out of my nose, ha ha ha! Anyway, here's an original TV News broadcast from Salt Lake City, Utah of a story about the recent "CLOWN TRAVEL AGENCY" Viral Marketing Campaign for The Dark Knight 2008 Batman Movie. This is, of course, about some Batman Fans who hit some bowling alley to find the Joker Bowling Ball, Joker Playing Card, Joker Cel Phone, & other promo materials hidden in a locker.

There's been a lot of hype about the Joker website CLOWN TRAVEL AGENCY but one that has sort of been missed is CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR A BETTER GOTHAM CITY. This page is a negative campaign against Harvey Dent. Done by the Police Officers who have been wrongfully accused by Harvey Dent for being corrupt. Well, last week I signed up for the heck of it & was very surprised to find this Harvey Dent Campaign Button in my postal mail box. The funny thing is that half of it was burned. I was kinda mad at first because I thought this was part of the package I have been waiting for & somehow they sent me a damaged button, ha ha! Then I turned it over & on the back is a sticker for the "CCFABG.ORG". Hmmm, 1/2 his face is burned, is this a clue? Down below is a link button to sign-up. New JOKER Viral Marketing Website for THE DARK KNIGHT!

I hope you guys get this information in time to see it! Warner Bros has released a new "Joker Viral Marketing" website for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie called The Clown Travel Agency. It will have some kind of special feature that will happen on April 1st, 2008! For right now there's only a picture of a suitcase with an envelope that reads, "Departure Date 4-01"...Hmmm, I wonder what the Joker is up to now!? Here's a link button to check it out!

THE GOTHAM TIMES Newspaper: Viral Marketing Websites For The Dark Knight Batman Movie

Recently, at special locations, Warner Brothers gave out a fake newspaper called The Gotham Times ( See large photo up above that is also a Desktop Wallpaper ). It looks like a real-life newspaper! It's even printed on the same kind of paper. In it there are fake ads for businesses you might see in a real newspaper. Well some of these fake companies have been popping up all over the internet. One of them is for the Gotham Police Department. Here's a picture of their website's header with the "Official GCPD Seal"...it looks VERY real!

They even made a page for the Railway Transit System with a map & everything. The funny thing is they show the line to Wayne Towers being under-construction because, if you remember, in Batman Begins that section near the building was destroyed, ha ha!!
