OK, I have not been able to totally confirm these yet but here's a photo of what might be the 4 special Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments for this year's 2011 San Diego Comic-Con International. The event happens July 21st - 24th, 2011. We have Batman "Descending Upon Gotham", IG-88 & Dengar from Star Wars ( Sold as a Set ), and The Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. Now, this Batman Keepsake Ornament has been released before in 2009 with the Silver-Age "Blue, Gray, & Yellow" colors ( You can see it by clicking HERE! ). It looks like this new one is a color variation, a more Modern Day "Black & Gray" version. For more information about the show please visit Comic-Con.org
OK, ya gotta admit that even though this Custom "Batman Stormtrooper" Toy is very unusual, it's extremely well done! It's a work of ART. In fact, I think it's totally hilarious! This large figure was part of the recent "Sideshow Collectibles Art Trooper"custom project. It's a mash-up of the 1966 Batman TV Show & 1970's Star Wars Movie! It's like Adam West meets George Lucas, ha ha! I only have one picture here but a photographer named Tim Hanson did an amazing set of photos of this doll that you can see on Flickr, just click HERE!
OK, here's the deal. I live in Oklahoma City & we never have any decent Comic Book Conventions here. It seems like I always have to travel to Dallas, Texas or somewhere to meet really big stars. So, I'm really excited about the fact that ADAM WEST ( Batman 1966 TV Show ) is going to be in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 26th & 27th. Tulsa is a short little road trip that is about an hour & a 1/2 drive for me...YAH! The funny thing is that he will be at the TREK EXPO which is basically a super-major Star Trek Convention, ha ha! In fact, their HUGE Special Guest is none other than William Shatner. Yes, Captain James T. Kirk! They're also going to have a few actors from other TV Shows & Movies like the old Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, etc...It looks like a really cool event so if you live close by you should check it out.
