This photo from Adam West shows what his new dog has been busy doing lately, ha! "Holy Paper Shredder, Batman!"
I have a good friend who is known as "Weezee Mule" over at the 1966 Batman Message Board ( his real name is Mike ). It's a nickname he uses & every single time I read it I totally crack-up, ha ha! The other day he sent me some really wonderful photos of his personal Batman Toy Collection, which is completely insane ( there's a ton of great stuff ), & I plan on posting those later, but for right now I wanted to showcase one photo that was sort of different & kind of stood out on it's own. These are his 2 family dogs dressed up like Batman & Robin! I love the expression on their canine faces. They seem sort of embarassed a little bit, ha ha! But they look pretty cool in their outfits & the photo is extremely funny. Now, I did mention he has an awesome toy collection & I'll be sharing those later. You won't want to miss those so please be sure to visit us again real soon for those. Also, I wanna thank Mike for sending all the great pics, I really appreciate that Mr. Weezee Mule!
A little over a month ago we told the story of how I found a stray dog we sort of adopted. He was a tiny puppy & pretty sick. Right away we fell in love with the little guy & decided to keep him, nurse him back to health. When I wrote about it here it was a short post about something personal that happened to me, no big deal. Well, readers went crazy! Our mailbox became packed with e-mails from everybody all asking how he was doing. It was crazy! Everybody was very concerned for him & it was really sweet. We really appreciated all the letters & comments we received, that was very cool. So, the 2nd update told about how we had been treating him & told about how he was slowly recovering. That was awhile back & even now, every now & then, we get a quick message about "How's Jasper doing?". So, here's a very current photo of him, shot yesterday! A recent visit to the Vet said he was totally cleared of all worms & he is even up to 9 pounds. In fact, he's growing like crazy! You can almost see it daily, it's kinda surreal, ha ha! Jasper is doing great.
Another reason for me to do this post is to tell all you dog-owners out there that PetSmart has a special "Batman Pet ID Tag" you can get engraved right in the store. These are always a good idea in case your pet gets lost. Anyway, I had told my sister we were gonna be getting him one in the next few days. I told her how, about 2 months before we ever even got a dog ( he was not planned, ha ha ), that I had seen a Batman ID Tag at a local Wal-Mart. They had a vending machine in the foyer as you came in the store. I noticed the Batman Symbol & thought it was kinda neat, that it would be something to add to my crazy collection, but I wasn't gonna pay $8.00 for a little piece of metal ( remember, I didn't have any dog or any plans to have a dog at that time ). Later, after getting Jasper I went by there & NO machine! I shared this story with my sister. Well, a few days later she called me all excited & said, "Go to the PetSmart Store on Rockwell...they have them!!". Ha Ha, I raced in my truck to the location & got one. It's the one you see in the photo. Now JASPER is an Official Bat-Hound"!! ( Thanks Deb ). OK, I apologize for boring everybody with my "personal story" but any of you who have pets know they can really take you over. We are NOT some of those "crazy dog parents" who are totally freaked out over their pets, those people get on my nerves, ha ha! But we really love the guy & we do appreciate all the gifts & warm friendly letters we have received from you...Thank You!

OK, this is really kinda funny! Here at the Bat-Blog it is Batman 24 hours a day. I mean, Batman Batman all the time! We cover new product releases, vintage toys, etc...we try to share the love of the character & the joys of collecting. I honestly hardly ever post anything personal unless it is really affecting me at the time. It's my blog & I have that freedom. But, I realize people don't wanna hear about my boring life so I keep it to an extreme minimum, ha ha! Well, the other day, totally by accident, I found a stray dog. We have ended up keeping him & it was never planned. His name is Jasper. I did a small post about it because it was sort of an amazing day. I just thought I would share a little bit about my life & then get right back to Batman. The funny thing is that people have gone totally crazy over Jasper...they all love him! We have received a ton of comments, e-mails, instant messages, & even phone calls, it's hilarious! But all the letters have been really nice & we really appreciate that. Thank you. Some people have asked, "How is he doing? Did you take him to a vet?" Ya see, I found him at a busy intersection where he had been abandoned ( some people are jerks ). So here's the news. We took him to a vet & they said he would be fine. That he had worms, real bad. They gave him some medicine & a shot. Plus, they kept him overnight for observation. The doctor said he did real well all night & when we went to pick him up he looked 200 times better. He was also way more active & happy. You could really notice an improvement in his personality. So, it looks like he's gonna do great! Also, we found out that he is a Pitbull, maybe a slight mix with another breed, but mostly Pitbull. His coloring is a dark & light brown color, sort of splotchy. We love him & he should be back to 100% full heath in a week or two. Again, sorry about sharing all the dumb info on my life but it's an event that was important to me at the time. Also, again, we appreciate all the kind letters...Thanks.
