Here are some very neat photos of a great collection of BATMAN TOYS sent to us by a friend over at facebook. His name is Keith & the cool thing is that he lives in Ireland. It looks like he is pretty serious about collecting all the Batman Movies on DVD. He really likes Action Figures, & if you look closely, you can see a lot of those Eaglemoss Pewter Figures. He has some great books & a few misc toys. Oh yeah, there is also an Autographed BATMAN Movie Script, very cool! ( I can make out the signatures of Danny DeVito & Michael Keaton, not sure who the 3rd one is ). I also like how everything is displayed. Thanks Keith, for sharing this. I always enjoy seeing other people's collections so if there are any other Bat-Collectors out there then please share some pics with us.
Here's a quick little tip for all you Serious BATMAN Collectors out there! More than half of all Blockbuster Video stores are shutting down in late April (Yes! ) and they're blowing out all their DVD's and video games. But, most of these retail locations are ALSO selling their DVD Movie Shelf Cards for all their titles for only a NICKEL a piece!! (20/$1.00) These awesome shelf cards are made of durable plastic ( or laminated cardboard ) and they look really cool for display! Thanks to Bat-Dave for the 'heads up'!
The comedians over at RIFFTRAX have just completed a funny parody of THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie. These are the guys who did Mystery Science Theater 3000 ( or MST3 for you fans out there, ha ha ) & RIFFTRAX is sort of the same thing. They watch movies & make funny commentaries while watching. Be sure to check out their website for more information. But, warning, ya gotta pay for their movies. They're not free.
Today I got done posting some amazing stories, ha ha, and then suddenly realized "Oh my God, it's Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"! So, here for your viewing pleasure are 2 Free Batman Desktop Wallpapers you can use to brighten your desktop or use as a background in a MySpace layout! The 1st one is a favorite image from the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: GOTHAN KNIGHT Anime Animated Movie. It shows Batman in a fight scene & he looks mad! The next one is a brand-new hi-rez photo of Heath Ledger as the Joker in the Dark Knight Batman Movie. I'm really looking forward to these 2 films & thought you might enjoy these.
I know that later this year there are gonna be a lot of people working on some very cool costumes (for either comic book conventions or Halloween parties) of The Joker so I thought I would do this post to explain one of the weapon-props the Joker ( Heath Ledger ) uses in the movie. This is the famous scene in the movie trailer where the Joker is seen holding a gun. It's the gun he's shooting when he says, "HIT ME!". This weapon is a Smith & Wesson M-76 Submachine Gun. They make replicas which you can probably find on eBay. Or, if you have a small budget, just carry a knife. It's the preferred weapon of The Joker anyway!
I came across a website the other day that did nothing but scan old newspaper pages & found this. It's an original advertisement for the 1966 BATMAN THE MOVIE Starring Adam West and Burt Ward. I don't know, I just thought it was an interesting piece of bat-history. I searched for some of the later movies ( 1989 & 90's ) but they were not there. This page focused mainly on the 1960's. If any readers have scans of those please send them.
This should bring back some fond memories for readers who were little kids back when BATMAN RETURNS the Batman Movie & The Atari Lynx Hand Held Video Game were popular. Actually, whatever your age, it's just kinda neat to see as an obscure bit of Bat-History! enjoy.
The other day I came across a really cool website with a weird twist. It features many vintage newspaper ads for bootleg films & exploitation movies that were made in the Philippines. One is titled BATMAN VERSES DRACULA & the other one is BATWOMAN AND ROBIN. It's a shame but these movies are lost in time with no known copies to exist. Oh man, these would be really great to watch. Too bad they're lost forever. The site is called Video48 & has a lot of wacky Pinoy film history. Here's a link to check it out.

Warner Brothers Animation and DC Comics are set to release the all-new original animated movie titled JUSTICE LEAGUE, THE NEW FRONTIER on February 26, 2008. Based on the graphic novel by Darwyn Cooke, Justice League: The New Frontier is the story of the creation of the Justice League. Here's a list of the voice actors they have so far: Neil Patrick Harris, Kyra Sedgwick, David Boreanaz, Jeremy Sisto, Lucy Lawless, Brooke Shields, Kyle MacLachlan, and Miguel Ferrer! Here's an incredible mini-documentary on the making of th new film. Now, I know it's not TOTAL Batman, but he is in it! Plus I love the artwork of Darwyn Cooke. Oh yeah, Bruce Timm ( Batman: The Animated Series ) is one of the producers...so ya know it's gonna be real good! If the video gets choppy just hit the pause button for a little bit, then hit play. A really cool webpage was brought to my attention the other day. It's a site for people to download paper model kits to make famous cars. They have these 2 vehicles there that I know Bat-Blog readers will love: The 1966 Batmobile from the TV Show ( George Barris' car ) & The Tumbler from Batman Begins Movie ( and soon, The Dark Knight ). These are FREE model kits you download as a PDF file & then print on your computer's printer using card stock paper. After that you cut the pieces out & then glue then together. Looking at the photos you have to admit that they are quite impressive. The attention to details are insane, ha ha! Be sure to click on the photo above for a larger picture where you REALLY see the details, crazy! Down below is a link to that wonderful page. If you do get one of these free kits you should think about giving them a donation but you don't have to. As a side note, if anybody here makes one of these please send us a photo. This post is a shout out to all the people who have been reading this blog for almost a year & also to those of you who have just discovered it yesterday. In fact, this August, marks the one year anniversary of the BAT-BLOG! Currently there are almost 600 posts to enjoy & if you dig through the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES you can see them all. This will give you an idea what we're really about. Basically we really love the Batman character, movies, cartoons, TV Series, comic books, plus new & vintage toys. What I wanna say very quickly is THANK YOU for all of your readership & contributions. Doing this blog has been a really great experience & I have made a lot of new friends. The reason for this post is to ask ALL readers what I can do to make this blog even better. Any ideas will be seriously thought about & appreciated.
