Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, one of our readers, named Tomas, shared some really nice photos of his amazing Batman Action Figure Toy Collection. The cool thing is that he's from Puerto Rico & I love to meet Bat-Fans from all over the globe, so that was pretty neat. Anyway, he submitted a lot of wonderful pics that many readers totally enjoyed ( his collection is awesome ). Now, when he sent those photos he took a special photo of one unique toy that I saved to post at another time...because it really stood out. It's a "Bootleg Batman Action Figure" from China & while looking at the photo I noticed a lot of English spelling mistakes that were kind of funny! Here they are: In the top right-hand corner of the packaging art it says, "Morgan Freeman". OK, right off the bat they're wrong because it's a figure of Christian Bale as Batman, ha ha! But, it continues to say, "most new series, design for the children fangle ( the word "Fragile", maybe? ) and in the high quality welcome you use our products completely new to come into the market"...yeah, totally crazy! Then, at the bottom of the front-side it says, "BATMAN BEGINS, Super Century Design, Unequal in Performance". Which is spelled a little better but is sort of totally wacky!! Anyways, I thought this stupid stuff was kinda funny...hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, ha ha! So, now go to the store & buy your Morgan Freeman figure!
Well, it appears that Warner Bros is totally sucking up to all the people who can vote for Oscars. In many of the Hollywood Trade Magazines ( Variety, Hollywood Reporter, etc..) they have placed full-page ads to remind the voters that THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie deserves a lot of Oscars. Shown here are just a few but there are a lot more! The 1st nomination that I think needs to be honored is for Heath Ledger as The Joker. He truly did an amazing job & I'm not just saying that to be nice because he passed away. He really deserves it & he will be missed. It's kind of sad to think about all the future performances we will be missing out on. He's seriously a great talent. Of course there are many other Best Supporting Actors who should be included too. The list would be Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, & Morgan Freeman. The whole cast did an incredible job! The Dark Knight easily deserves Best Movie of The Year while Christopher Noland should get Best Director. Also, let's not forget Best Supporting Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, she's wonderful. I also think we should even mention Christian Bale for his contribution. The movie deserves a lot of "technical awards" for stuff like Art Direction, Film Editing, Best Make Up, Best Costume Design, etc...we'll have to wait & see. Because of The Dark Knight Batman movie this year's Oscars Award Show should be pretty fun to watch, & kind of nerve-racking too, ha ha!
Late last night, at midnight, I went to my local theater & viewed the new Dark Knight Batman movie!! OH MY GOD!!! I'm not kidding when I say this movie is a True Art Masterpiece! It was amazing. Every actor's performance was brilliant, especially Heath Ledger as The Joker. Heath Ledger took the Joker character to a whole new level & he simply deserves an Oscar for his performance. But, to be honest, so does every other actor on this film: Christian Bale ( Batman & Bruce Wayne ), Gary Oldman ( Lieutenant Jim Gordon ), Aaron Eckhart ( District Attorney Harvey Dent & Two-Face Villain ), Michael Caine ( Butler Alfred Pennyworth ), Morgan Freeman ( Lucius Fox ), & Maggie Gyllenhaal ( Rachel Dawes ), among others. It's also important to note that Christopher Nolan deserves a "Best Director" Oscar & The Dark Knight should get "Best Movie of The Year"! I know I sound kinda crazy but I'm totally serious when I say that if you're a true Batman Fan you will totally LOVE this movie...go see it tonight, twice!
OK, since THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie is about to hit Warner Bros is kicking the media talk show circuit up a bit! Scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th: In the morning, Morgan Freeman ( Lucius Fox ) will be on The TODAY SHOW. Then, Morgan Freeman will join Michael Caine ( Butler Alfred Pennyworth ) on THE VIEW. Then, later tonight, Aaron Eckhart ( DA Harvey Dent / Two-Face ) will be on the LATE SHOW with David Letterman. Be sure to check your local TV Guide for air time information.
Sunday night, during Survivor, they showed the very 1st TV Commercial Movie Trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie. This TV spot #1 showed some new footage of Batman, Joker, & the other characters. I like when Morgan Freeman says, "Perhaps you should read the instructions first". It also introduces the phrase, "OUT OF THE DARKNESS, COMES THE KNIGHT"...Awesome!
Finally!! Today Warner Bros finally released the much anticipated THE DARK KNIGHT Batman 2 Movie Trailer!! Here's a link to check it out. Heath Ledger looks amazing as The Joker! Christian Bale is awesome as both Bruce Wayne and The Batman! Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, & Maggie Gyllenhaal are all great too!! Christopher Nolan has gone a top-notch job!! Now Go See It!!
Here's the official Hong Kong News Press Conference for THE DARK KNIGHT ( Batman 2 ) movie. Warner Bros is currently filming in Hong Kong. The Dark Knight film stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman. It will be in theaters on July 18, 2008.
