NBA Ad Campaign Parody: There Can Only Be One

Our friend Fernando made this funny graphic with Batman/Superman as a parody of all the NBA advertisements. ( We all know that Batman would win, ha ha ). He wrote,

"
I've been watching the NBA Playoffs and its "There Can Only Be One" campaign, and I created a version with Batman and Superman (Christian Bale and Brandon Routh). It will be fun to see other characters side-to-side like Batman and the Joker.

Here there’s info about the campaign,

"There Can Only Be One" is designed to bring to life the dedication, desire, and sacrifice that create the intense emotions and drama of one of sport's premier post-season events: the NBA Playoffs & The Finals. Directed by the husband and wife team of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine), the campaign represents the depth of the entire playoffs story, and will adapt, narrow, intensify and refocus as the teams drop off and only two are left vying for the championship. The spots feature Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal speaking on "fear," and LeBron James and Kevin Garnett discuss "the dream".
P.S. – The players in the pictures are Tracy McGrady (Houston Rockets) and Rip Hamiton (Detroit Pistons)."

VINTAGE 60's PHOTO: Two Young Bat-Fans Get To See The Original 1966 Batmobile Car by George Barris!!

Oh man! I opened my e-mail box last night & when I saw this amazing vintage Batman photo I was totally surprised! A loyal Bat-Blog Reader named Michael sent this wonderful family photo & this story, "Love your site, Batman fan from the old ABC television series days, wanted to share a scan of an original Polaroid (one surviving of seven taken) of the George Barris 1966 Batmobile on display at a Ford dealership in Indianapolis. The crowd that turned out was so large the owner of the dealership kept the car back in the service bays as he could not guarantee it's safety ! I'm the little bat-geek in the hat and glasses, the other little boy is my cousin who's dad knew said dealership owner and arranged for us to have the 'private' showing. Enjoy!" Ha Ha, Michael, I bet you totally freaked out when you saw THE car! What a great story & I seriously love the old black & white photo. I really appreciate you sending this because cool stuff like this is extremely RARE & the photo looks great, thanks. I also love the happy facial expressions on you & your cousin's faces. This must have been the greatest day of your childhoods, ha ha! I want to invite ALL Bat-Blog Readers to send us your favorite memories of Batman. There's an "e-mail Button" on the top right-hand side of this blog, click it sometime. Thanks again, Michael!

TATTOO ART PHOTO : Batman and Joker Playing Card from The Original KILLING JOKE Graphic Novel

Tonight I received this very cool Batman/Joker Tattoo photo from a loyal Bat-Blog Reader named Neil who wrote, "Here's a picture of my tattoo, to blog with as you please! It was done by Matt Lloyd, tattooing out of Red Hot and Blue Tattoo in Edinburgh, Scotland (but now he's tattooing at Illicit Tattoo in New Zealand). It's the image taken from the back cover of the original The Killing Joke graphic novel." Neil, your Batman & Joker Playing Card tattoo looks great, really great! The graphics are sharp & the coloring is bright, looks awesome! Matt did an incredible job on it, please let him know that. Thank you very much for sending this photo, I appreciate it! I wanna invite all other readers with Batman-related photos to send them in too. They don't have to be tattoos but can be ANYTHING about our favorite Dark Knight!

BATMAN ART: The Art Portfolio of Mark Slater, Graphic Designer

OK, Here's a quick post that goes in the "Graphic Artist Inspired By Batman" category. I'm talking about Mark Slater, a young 23 year old graphic artist, who has a ton of talent. Shown here are a few examples of his work where you can clearly see that he loves the Batman character. The graphics show the Batman Villains: The Joker ( Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight movie ), Two-Face ( from the Comic Book or Graphic Novel? ), and Mr. Freeze ( A lot like the version from Batman: The Animated Series ). If you're liking what you see you should check out his website, there's some really neat stuff there. But, be sure to BOOKMARK the Bat-Blog before ya go!

KEVIN CONROY, The Voice of BATMAN, On Matlock!!

This short video clip is pretty funny. It features the actor Kevin Conroy as he makes a special guest appearance on Matlock. If you listen to his voice very carefully you WILL HEAR BATMAN! As we all know Kevin is the voice of Batman & Bruce Wayne on Batman :The Animated Series, Justice League, and, in the near future, the voice of Batman on the new DC animated film Batman: Gotham Knight. I hope you enjoy the video, ha ha.
