David's VINTAGE 1970's BATMAN 7-Eleven COMIC CUP Photo

Our friend David sent us some really incredible pictures of a few of his personal family photos that happen to feature Vintage Batman Toys. They have been a total treat to see. I've been posting one every now & then, to sort of spread them out. Plus, I've been trying to add a little bit of research to them. Here's an example. This photo shows David holding his favorite Batman Cup he got at a 7-Eleven store. He said he didn't know the exact date but thought it might be from around 1973 to 1975. Well, the funny thing is our research figured out that these COMIC CUPS were released by 7-Eleven in 1974, ha! Shown just below the 1st photo is a graphic from an original 7-Eleven COMIC CUPS CHECKLIST ©1974. It shows all the cups that were produced with comic book superhero characters from DC Comics. Over all, there were 60 cups to collect ( Approx. 12 of them were "Batman-related" & be sure to click on that pic for a larger version ). I also have a photo, below that, showing a few of the cups. The one that is in David's picture is actually pretty hard to see so maybe one of these references will jog his memory, we'll see. Either way I appreciate David sending us this. Do you have any special photos of your favorite Batman items or photo memories to share? If so, then please send them in.

Photos: RARE Old Vintage Batman Collectibles & Memorabilia!!

No offense, but I'm kinda tired of reporting on THE DARK KNIGHT movie, ha ha. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally excited about it being released soon & completely love it but as a writer for this blog I have to really really really cover it...a lot! So, I thought I would post some wonderful vintage toys from the past. Here...we...GO! The 1st photo is an extremely RARE ( & also very weird ) item called the 1966 BATMAN BAT-GRENADE. It's a rubber hand grenade toy you throw & when the end of it hits the ground it make a loud POP sound. It makes that sound because you take cap-gun ammo & load it into the mechanism on the top end. When it hits the ground, it goes off, BAAMMM! The weird thing is that the grenade has wings, ha ha. But I seriously love the vintage graphics on the display card...nice! The next item is newer but still pretty hard to find, especially in the original box. It's the 1989 BATMAN MOVIE ELECTRONIC LCD HAND HELD VIDEO GAME made by Grandstand. The reason it's RARE ( for American collectors anyway ) is that it was issued in the UK. The game play on these things were usually very weak but they still have a nice charm from a bygone era! The 3rd photo is a super cute & kinda goofy Batman item, it's the BATMAN SUPER BABY DOLL in original box! This was made by Amsco in the 1970's, 1974 to be exact. They also made a Superman & Wonder Woman doll as well. So, I hope you have enjoyed some of these super-rare pieces of Batman Memorabilia. If you have ANY photos you would like to share then please send them in today! Our e-mail button is always at the top right-hand side of this blog.

Vintage 1970's 7-Eleven Comic Cups with Batman Characters

Thirty-something years ago there was a set of COMIC CUPS given away by 7-Eleven They as a promotional gimmick. They featured DC Comics superheroes with many different Batman characters like Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, The Joker, Dick Grayson, The Riddler, Alfred, The Penguin, Batgirl, & many more. The 1st picture shows a few of the icee cups as an example. But, the 2nd photo is a graphic check list they released in 1974 showing all 60 cups. I know a lot of Bat-Blog reders are collecting these & this list is a great reference, enjoy.
